Hi,

I have made a "virgin-installation" of Joomla 2.5 on my localhost. I installed hotspots 3.1.1 yesterday.

My markers, which I have imported from the previous version are not there.I saw them once, but for a second only...
I have imorted the three tables with phpmyadmin, of course :-)
I have also copied the images folder in /media/com_hotspots

I have edited an existing hotspot in the backend, using a sample marker, also this one is not showing.

I can call an existing hotspot by selecting a categorie then select the hotspot from the slide bar, but then it shows me only text, no frames, no template, but the photo.

All in all, this hotspot I cannot present to the users on the new live page I'm going to publish soon.

I'm afraid this is the beginning of my trouble only :-(

Hey Hartmut,
I'm a little confused. What were you using before the 2.5 installation? Were you on j1.5 with hotspots 2.0.5?
Did you first install hotspots 3.1.1 and then imported the entries from the old site or did you do it the other way around? First import, then install???

Can you also show us a link?
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

thanks for quick reply.

Unfortunately I cannot give you a link, because I'm testing ist at the moment on my localhost.

I'm running Firefox browser.

I've tried it all way round, last attempt was completely de-installed everything, exept tables in database.
Then checked whether all related folders were deleted
Then installed it again, afterwards just copied the com_hotspots folder from media (from live site with Joomla 1.5) to media on localhost with Joomla 2.5
On the live site I' running still J 1.5 with hotspots 2.0.5 and everything is fine there...

Hope you have an idea.

Anyhow, I will try it again.

Do I have to make changes to the tables in phpmyadmin?

Is there a German language pack available for 3.1.1 ?

:cheer:

Ok, so let us experiment!
Copy the tables from the 1.5 site. Move them to the 2.5 installation.
Install hotspots 2.0.5 -> test if everything is working. If it is, then install 3.1.1 over.

Let me know how it goes! And yes we have german for 3.1:
opentranslators.transifex.com/projects/p/compojoom-hotspots/ (100% translated actually - how good? no idea :))

cheers,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

it's very strange here :(

I have now tried all ways, I can imagine...
Even with a brand new database and 1 created test categorie and a test hotspot, the markers are not shown when calling the map general view. The .png for markers is assigned, of course.

But, when I then call my created hotspot, I can see the marker in the map.

I have tried to install 2.0.5, but then I have no map at all, neither at map view, nor when I want to create a hotspot. That makes it also impossible to create an own hotspot.

I would be prepared to make a fresh install of 3.1.1 and transfer all hotspots manually (there are 130 only :( ), but when I cannot see them at the map view???

I hope you have an idea.

One question more: The type of tables in 2.0.5 is MyISAM, while most others are INNODB, does this matter?

Best Regards
Hartmut

Do you categories have an icon shadow?
I'm against all kind of manual work! This should work - the data is there.

Aaa, I just got an idea. Log in with phpmyadmin and look at the hotspots_marker table -> does the access field have the value 0 or 1 (1 is correct, 0 is not)

The type of the tables is irrelevant.

Hi Daniel,

Categories have no shadow.
I cannot load the shadow, it says something like "Copying failed".

Meanwhile I realized that it took abt. 2 minutes, then the first marker appeared (I made to hotspots), the other one did still not appear after 5 minutes

Access table had "0", I changed it to "1" now.

I then tried again, when starting the map view, the entire world appears twice...
Then I select my categorie, only the slide menue appears, the scale does not change, even I have set to show acc. to the borders of the categorie.

I refresh (F5) and the scale is correct, markers are there.

Somehow progress, but not yet perfect, I would say :cheer:

Can we go further? Any more to try?

Best Regards
Hartmut

I refresh (F5) and the scale is correct, markers are there.

This issue is solved meanwhile, I set the option to a Centered City and choose the scale. The scale of the starting map, without categories is corret now.
When choosing the categorie following (marker without shadow icon):
-select categorie: scale remains unchanged, no markers, slide menue opens immediately. After exactly 120 seconds the first marker appears, the second (and probably any others, if exist) do not appear.
When choosing the categorie (marker with shadow icon):
-select categorie, scale remains unchanged, both markers appear immediately, with shadow.

Hope this heps a bit.

Hey Hartmut,
Well, I don't think that we have artificial intelligence in Hotspots that does what it likes. :)

I'm a little confused by your description to what is working and what not. Could you please sum up everything again for me in few points?

Thanks,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

I am a little bit further now, as you probably know, most IT-problems are sitting in front of the computer :)
But still have one issue:
When I call a categorie, the slide bar opens and shows me the information of the hotspots absolutely correct, but when I then click on one entry and then click "More Info", the text is shown quite garbled and absolutely not in format (see hotspots more info)

I hope this is a peanut for you :)

Best Regards
Hartmut

did you clean the cache from the browser?

Sometimes that solves a lot of my problems.

Hey Hartnut,
Please go to the settings and make sure that compojoomcomment support is turned off. (the image is too small to tell, but it looks like you have it turned on and at the same time you don't have it installed).

Regards,
Daniel

Thanks for the hint, Eliecer, I did now, but no improvement.

Daniel, which modules are for Compojoomcoment?

I turned off now all modules with ccc, is this correct?

Directly for Compojoom I found nothing...

Best Regards

Hartmut

BINGO :cheer:

Daniel, you are a Guru :-)

Who can read, has many advantages, right?

I found in the settings the option set to yes, disabled it, activated the ccc-modules again and...

...it works.

Thanks a lot, Daniel.

Best Regards
Hartmut
