hello,
I would like to know if it's possible to limit the geographical areas in which to place the hotspot.

Thanks,
SalCan

Hey Salvatore,
I'm sorry but the answer is no. Could you explain in a little more details how something like this should work and why you need it?
Thanks,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,
the reason is simple: I would like to limit the possibility of put an hotspot onto a certain territory and not anywhere in the map;
perhaps it is easier to limit the zoom on the map?

Hey Salvatore,
I got another user that asked me the same some time ago. And I wanted to research if this is possible, but this doesn't really have high priority on the list - so I'll think about when everything else is done...

Regards,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

This is a good idea, it doesn't apply to me, but still a good idea.

If you can create a plotted shape using lat & long coordinates (the allowed area to place a hotpot), then you can use the info from this page:

http://hammerspace.co.uk/2011/10/google-maps-api-points-in-polygons

to check if the marker/hotspot is inside the area.
