I've been using JomComment for more than 3 years and now we plan to migrate to a new component.

So far CompojoomComment is on the top of my list, but I have several questions before purchasing it:

1. Is CompojoomComment capable of migrating huge amount of JomComment comments? (over 50.000)

2. Is there a 'Latest Comments' module available? (we had one with JomComment)

3. Are there e-mail notifications for new comments? (here I mean admin notifications - set an e-mail where all new comments will be received)

4. Is it possible to moderate only comments that contain specific keywords, then receiving e-mail notifications for these comments which contain 'Publish' link.

5. Can commenting be disabled for specific articles/categories/sections?

6. Is there a place where all the CompojoomComment templates can be previewed?

7. Is it possible to auto-unpublish a comment which receives x amount of negative votes?

That is all for now, thanks!

Hey Igor,
thanks for contacting us :)

1. It should be... And if something goes wrong I'm always here to help - you can give me access to phpmyadmin and I'll do the migration for you.

2. Yes

3. Yes - moderators get notified on new comments, also users can subscribe to notifications as well (we even have rss )

4. Unfortunately no, but there is a publish/unpublish link for moderators in frontend.

5. Yes you can disable it on categories/article basis. there is also an option to disable further commenting in an article.

6. No, but once you purchase the component you have them in the backend :) You can also create your own - a little bit of css knowledge is a must on that.

7. No. We support this option only for akismet. If akismet thinks that the comment is a spam - we unpublish it until a moderator decides otherwise.

Hope that answers everything. If something is still unclear, just shoot :)

Cheers,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for the quick response.

Regarding question 4, can you tell me how the censorship system works?
Currently we have added 'critical words' in our JomComment configuration and the admin received comments which contain those words on e-mail for moderation.

We need to figure out how to alter this procedure using your component.

Thanks,
Igor.

In the backend you have an option to specify words that have to be censored.

for example:
asshole = a****le

There is no specific notification if somebody enters such a word. The comment will be published and the word will be transformed - that is all we do. The moderator will always receive notifications on new comments - no matter if they contain a bad word or not.

Cheers,
Daniel

Is there an 'Unpublish' link in the notification e-mail, so the moderator can unpublish the comment directly from there?

No, the moderator should click the link in the email -> that goes to the article. Login into your site and then he will have the option to publish or unpublish a comment.

If comments with negative votes don't get unpublished, what is the effect of negative votes?
On Jomcomment it collapses with message 'low rating comment' and the visitors need to click on it to view it.
