Hi Daniel, I hope you have been well!

I am trying to configure a scenario where CBsubs restricts content on articles for certain sections that require subscription.

However, I cannot figure out how to set it up so that comments are still possible on the intro portion of an article. Is this possible?

In article layout the intro only text is displayed with a link to upgrade subscription, however the compojoom form will not load. Of course, if a user with the needed subscription views the same article, it shows the complete article and compojoom form.

What I would like to achieve is the ability for public and registered users to see positive comments on the intro text and have incentive to upgrade and view the rest of the content.

Have a great day!

Hey Angelic,
Where have you been??? You disappeared suddenly :)

What do you mean with - "comments are still possible on the intro portion"? You want to show just some commnets or do you want to allow the users to also post there?

I don't know how cbsubs works? Do you have to create new user groups or do you create new visibility levels? Most probably you will have to make some checks in the our joomla plugin that calls compojoomcomment.

Hi Daniel,

Well, as I told you I had some contract work coming up and it ended up taking a lot more time than expected. Not a bad thing, but lots of travel.

Anyway, I am trying to get back on track with my dev projects and am stuck here.

I am not the best at CBsubs, but can explain that content can be controlled by section, category, or the article itself. In this case we are protecting individual articles. In CBSubs, when you select an article to be protected, it changes the "read more" link to "upgrade your subscription to view this content." All of the intro text of the article is shown, and everything after the "read more" is protected until the user upgrades.

What I would like is to have the comments available for read only for non subscribers reading just the intro text, and the usual "you must be registered/subscribed to post comments" message. Just like with a public front end/registered user scenario.

I'll PM you some info.

Have a great day!
