Hi Yves / Daniel,

Any plans to have options to only edit certain fields from the frontend manage my event area? At the moment the event owners get too many options to change. Would be nice to reduce these to certain fields (i.e. description, dates, ticket numbers). Having all the the current fields to change is too much. Just want to keep it simple for my users.

thanks Pete

Hi Pete,

for this we have the new simple submission form, it allows you to choose which fields to show and is much simpler.

matukio.compojoom.com/submit-event

Kind regards,
Yves

ah ok... so if I setup a simple submission form for the front end, the edit event from the front end will mirror this. Is that right?

Hi Pete,

not sure if i understand you correctly, normally the "big" old form is for editing events. But with the next version (Coming probably today) events created with the simple submission form are going to open in the simple one too for editing.

Kind regards,
Yves

Ah ok, so the new version will give me the option to create events from the frontend using this simplified form. And if I edit the event from the frontend (if I'm the event organiser) I only see the simplified form.

In this new version, will the simplified form for editing only be shown for events created with this form? For example, if I create an event in the backend using the "big" version and set the organiser to be one of my users and they then click Edit from the front end screen. Will they see the event in the simplified version or the full "big" form? I'm hoping there is a choice or simplified by default :-)

Sorry if i'm being thick and mis-understanding!

cheers Pete

the release notes from today's release answer my question. Only events created using the simple form will be shown in this view when editing from frontend.

Cheers,
Yves
