Hello,

I think it would be a good idea to have a new menu item to take people straight into their My Offers section and allows you to set your own page name (i.e. Manage your Events). At the moment I have to create a direct link to My Offers as an external URL. But by doing that, the page takes the page name of my event list page. Not ideal. Would this be easy to implement?

And going forward (in an ideal world :-) ), a new view from the frontend that allow for the management of your own events, rather than integrating it into the event list page. Keeps it all separate and simple from a user point of view.

Thanks Pete

Hmm we can make a setting in the event-list menu entry for that - added it to the wishlist. As you said you already found the "workaround" by creating an external URL.

Separating the views will require to much duplicate code and would do almost the same like the event-list.

Kind regards,

Yves

Hi Yves,

Anything you can do to make look better would be great.. It is more for first time users. It doesn't seem to be clear enough for them, as it all blends into one view in the event list, especially with all the filters showing. If there was another workaround to just show a page with My Offers, with it's own page title and none of the other filters, that would take the confusion away. Like I say it is more for first time users; once you work it out it all fits into place in your head. It is obvious to me how to do it, but then again I have been using the software for a while now. And to you, you probably dream about event systems! :-) But to 'some' users, they need it to be 100% clear. Not everyone is computer savvy!

This feedback came from a couple of people testing a new site I'll shortly be making live. They both thought they were back in the event list page (which they are) because the page title was the same. When they looked more closely (as it was showing their test events in the my offers view) they realised the page was different. It wasn't a major issue, just a minor point.

I personally don't find it confusing, but it seems others do and could do, which concerns me a little. Sometimes if users have to think too much, they walk away.

I'm not sure what would be possible, like you say it is a lot duplication, but the simplest way I can think of is...

1. have the ability to create a menu item that takes you to the My Offers view, but instead of showing the Event List Page Title, show a new page title called what ever you want it to be. For me that would be Manage you Cycling Event, as my site is cycling event related. Then when you click the menu item to Manage your event, the title clearly matches. At the moment I have a menu item called Join and Manage Cycling Events, because my external URL link to my offers always shows the event list page title. If you know a way around this today in the current version, please let me know.

2. Linked to the above - When going to menu item for My Offers, have the option to remove other menu filters (categories, date range,etc...) or maybe just take the whole filter side box away (if admin chooses to). That would really make it look like the user is only looking at their own events.

Hopefully this makes sense?! Not sure what is possible, I'm sure you have lots of other requests coming!

Cheers Pete
