Hello,

While translating Matukio into Finnish (pretty much finished by the way! maybe some testdriving would be good idea to find mistakes. i'll do that on my dev site) I started hoping again that it would be possible for the creator/organiser of an event to book extra places for an event.

A Super User can make an extra booking at the backend, but an authorized frontend user can't do that. My client that used previous Seminar and now Matukio, would very much like that possibility. Would it be possible to have? It would not be necessary to include an email address or names to the extra bookings, just a possibility to decrease available places and increase booked places is enough. Maybe the extra booking could be separated from "real" bookings, like Guests: 2, Booked: 2, Bookable: 6.

They had another request too but I can't remember what it was.. I have it on paper somewhere, I'll get back to you..

Was it so that in 2.2 there will be a possibility to send email to registered users about new events?

Cheers,
Miika

BTW: The Control Center view and the menu on the left are a bit messy.. see the attachment.

Hello Mika,

of course Organizers (did you set the ACL right?) can make additional bookings (and also edit current) in the frontend. The way is the same as in the backend:

Click on "My offers" -> Click on the number of bookings -> Click on "Book"

This is planed for a later version, with 2.2 there will be a tighter integration with newsletter systems, like AcyMailing.

Best regards,

Yves

Hmm there is no attachment in your post :) Do you use Joomla 3?

Oh, where did the pic go, here it is again..

Yes I use Joomla 3.

I have to check again the frontend booking system. Maybe I looked it with my eyes closed. Would not be the first time.. :)

EDIT: I can't ge the pic in here. Does it not accept .png? I'll try converting it.

Aye the css of the icons is not loaded correctly in Joomla 3 (just shortcuts to the menue items) - will be fixed with the next version.

Ok, that's great. Maybe it fixes the double/triple sized icons (Print for example) in event view too.

Will the link to newsletter systems be "universal" or is your main goal to develop it with AcyMailing? My client was interested in jNews. But, I haven't done much comparing between those two yet..

Hmm that has nothing todo with that - sounds like some bad Joomla template css. Do you have a link to a livesite? Try searching for .modal (which the print button and some others use) in the css, perhaps there are some wrong stylings for it.

I fear universal is not possible, but we are going to support more then AcyMailing (But this will be the first one) - jNews is also on my list. But we mostly plan writing a plugin (to show signup for newsletter checkbox during the booking (or automatically adding the mail and name after booking) and an additional name / e-mail sync with the existing bookings.

Was it so that in 2.2 there will be a possibility to send email to registered users about new events?

An automatic E-mail option notifying of new events to the registered users (or previous participants) is planned also, but for a later version (probably 2.3) and has nothing todo with the newsletter system integration's.

Best regards,

Yves

Hi Yves,

Can I email you a password to the experimental site where I was testing the Matukio. I think there's something else wrong too in configuration pages at backend. For example, I remember seeing some settings for ACL in language files when I was translating them, but in the current configs that does not appear.

Booking the extra places works like you said (pressing the number in My Offers).

Cheers,
Miika
