What are you trying to achieve?

You don't want to allow booking seats online? (Just set max bookings per participant to 0 in the event edit and allow public booking, so that the message is not shown..)

Or hide it with CSS:

.mat_event_status {display: none}
#submenu_informations .list-group-item-warning div:first-child {display: none}

Just copy that into your Joomla templates CSS file.

Hi,

I had already disabled online registration per your guidance, but this was not my issue. My issue is that the single event page advises the viewer to log in to view status (such as number of registered participants), even when the log-in and viewing of status has been disabled in the back end. This makes Matukio confusing to the typical user. If status and login has been disabled in the back-end, it would make more sense that the status box simply disappear on the front end since none of the information is supposed to be available to the user - logged in or not.

I'm trying to stay away from doing custom CSS mods - which is why I like to buy apps that do it for me ;-).

Yey because Matukio unregistered booking is set to off - so this is the message when unregistered booking is disabled (there is currently no setting for "No booking at all").

The Login setting is just for hiding the integrated login form in Matukio - most people disable that when they want user login through there own modules / positions only (so we just can't assume that generally no login is possible for users based on that setting :( ).

So we would need an additional setting for your use-case :/

I'm trying to stay away from doing custom CSS mods - which is why I like to buy apps that do it for me ;-).

But you can't have everything as a setting :unsure: Matukio is already cluttered with these :/

The whole idea about templates, Joomla, extensions, html etc. is that you can do easily adjust the layout to your needs with CSS (that's the reason every single element has an own css class in Matukio - to make it easy to change things with just a single line) ;-)

But to make you happy i am going to add an additional setting -> No online booking <- for you, that prevents any booking actions and in this case just shows no online booking text and no other things.

Kind regards,

Yves

Hi,

Actually I really like your clutter of options. They are what make your product flexible and attractive! It is exactly this kind of flexibility that made me purchase.

Others may have our same business contraints that drive our need to not register online. The business reason behind not registering online is:
1. We do not want to process a credit card immediately through a processor when the event might later cancel or reschedule due to insufficient enrollment. We allow candidates to download a pdf registration form instead, which can be forwarded to us for later processing if need be.
2. Our events are relatively expensive ($2,000 - $4,600 per person), which means most students need to bring a registration form back to a supervisor for approval.
- If the student cancels, or if we cancel, we do not want to need to reverse expensive charges since the processing fees are quite hefty (up to $180 per person). This means we prefer to collect tentative registrations, rather than immediately charged reservations.
3. Our events often have multiple people per company register, which is more easily facilitated with a pdf registration form.
3. Many of our customers pay by wire transfer only after receiving an official invoice - which is beyond online registration ease.

Essentially, this makes our online event calendar more of a catalog than an online e-commerce facility. This is why we don't have people logging in or looking at available seats and other status info.

I thank you for accommodating our unique needs.

Because we do not allow the user to register for an event online, and have alternatively provided the user with a downloadable PDF registration form that can completed online or submitted by e-mail, Matukio 5.0.9 continues to confuse some users with its message, "This event cannot be booked online." Please see attached.

A question from a prospective customer yesterday:
"Thank you very much for the details on the training sessions. I’m interested in attending this session below. On the website, it indicates that I cannot sign up for this training course online. Can you please point me in the right direction to get enrolled?"

The warning about online booking is causing confusion and customer problems.

I purchased your 3-month support subscription to evaluate your product, but am concerned that the next version fixing this issue will not come out soon enough for me take advantage of it - which is not a positive thing when evaluating. Will the new version be out soon?

Thanks in advance for your consideration.

- Allen

Hi Allen,

we are currently testing and polishing the Matukio 5.1 version and working on the last details (one new payment plugin is still missing).

Btw. you can alway make a language override for that text and show something else :-)

If you subscription expires before i sent you a copy of Matukio 5.1..

Kind regards,

Yves

Bump.
1. Still looking to get rid of the confusing message, "Please login first. This event cannot be booked online." It can be, but I do not want it done through Matukio. This message is really messing people up and causing a lot of lost sales since we support online booking, but not through Matukio. Our online pdf forms allow multiple registrations, and allow us to delay processing until the event is confirmed to run as scheduled.

I added the custom coding you recommended to get id of the status message on the right, but the attached message below still shows and confuses people. Can I get rid of this message too somehow?

Part of the message is hidden for the guests. Please log in or register to see it.

Then don't set -> Unregistered booking to false <- this has nothing (!!!) to do with if booking is allowed or not - you already prevented that with setting Max bookings per seat to zero (During the event creation).

Kind regards,

Yves

Hi Yves,

Thanks for your reply. I configured unregistered booking to "yes", which got rid of the advice to log in. However, the user is still presented with a dialog box that explains, "This event cannot be booked online", which is the crux of my problem with confusing the users:

I need to somehow get rid of the booking information module entirely, or be able to put my own pdf registration form link there. Here is a view of a current live event so you can see what I mean: www.certifiedinfosec.com/events/event/0/...or-examiner-training .

Hi Allen,

you can easily hide it with CSS:

#mat_noticket {display: none}

(Just insert that into you joomla templates css file).

Kind regards,

Yves
