TOPIC: Matukio 3.0.6 categories are not deleting

I've deleted a few categories from the backend of Matukio 3.0.6 but they still show up in the drop down menu on the create event form. How can I delete them permanently?

we are using the Joomla categories manager - so you first send them to trash, then change the viewing status to trashed:

and there you can delete it permanently with "Empty trash":
