Hello - Is there a way to switch an event created in the backend to show basic edit options when accessed from the frontend? I don't see an option anywhere, so guess there is a database field that defines this?

thanks Pete

All events are completely editable from the frontend, when you are the organizer / publisher of it. Than you have a button my events at the event-list. (There is a setting if all organizers with ACL permissions can also edit all events)

Or did i not get you?

Best,
Yves

Hi yves, probably the way I explained it!!

What I noticed is that the edit your own event from the front end is either basic or gives you all the options, depending on how the event was created.

Scenario 1
If I create an event from the front end using the form as a registered user and then edit my event from the front end, I get the basic edit screen.

Scenario 2
If I create an event in the back end as an admin and then assign the event to an organiser, and the organiser then uses the edit from the front end, it gives them all the options possible for an event, rather than a basic set of options to change.

What I want to do (or find out if possible) is, can I set or do something to an event in the 2nd scenario to ensure the organiser only sees the basic options when editing from the front end?

The reason for this is because I do create events for people in the back end and then assign them as the organiser, but I only want them to see the basic options to edit and not the full options.

Hopefully this makes sense! And hopefully I have missed something silly and easy to do!

Thanks Pete

Hi Peter,

hmm there is no setting for that - it's decided on if there is an event uuid (in the database column) or not.. Because when you submit one through the basic simple form we generate one, on the other not :-/

I add a setting for that on my to do list.

Best,
Yves

Thanks Yves. Would be good to have an option to turn on/off.

Would it do harm if I entered a randomly generated UUID?

thanks Pete

Hmm, probably not - but not sure on it.. There are a lot of checks which assume that events added with uuid, are not done by "real" organizers.

I did test and appears to work okay. What I don't want to do is cause long term issues.

When do you think an option to choose which Edit screen could go in? Not knowing how long the todo list is.... Sorry, I know developers don't like to be fixed on dates ;-)

cheers Pete
