Hello Yves,

Thanks for the recent updates in the Matukio 6 release. I have the latest edition installed and have come across some issues that were not evident before.

1. There is no currency symbol on the booking form, however, when the booking is completed the currency symbol is shown on the completed page with the booking details and appears in the booking e-mail. Also a value subject to a different fees percentage (%) calculation are not rounded up/down to two decimal places on page 1 of the booking form, but it is correct on page 3 of the booking form.

2. The tooltip entry input as part of a Booking Field displays incorrectly. If the tooltip field includes text, then the text in the “Caption / Label / Translationstring” is displayed instead of the tooltip text!

Do you experience these issues? I hope they an be resolved as soon as possible.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen

MR B

Yep, as we currently calculate some results in JavaScript we can't format the currency so easy.. Will be fixed with one of the next versions, when i have some time writing a formater for JavaScript.

Also a value subject to a different fees percentage

Added a rounding to the first value too.

2. The tooltip entry input as part of a Booking Field displays incorrectly. If the tooltip field includes text, then the text in the “Caption / Label / Translationstring” is displayed instead of the tooltip text!

Hmm can't replicate that. Can you test with the joomla default protostar template. Attached a screenshot how it should look like.. Maybe your template or an plugin overrides the joomla tooltip class we are using (bootstrap).

Regards,
Yves

Hello Yves,

Thanks for your reply. Using the Protostar Template makes no difference to the Tooltip display for me. I have a test site with Joomla 3.4.8, Matukio 5.2.8 installed and the template has bootstrap 3.3.6 integrated into its framework. The Tooltip, as it has always on with my template, appears with the field’s label description. See the following image:

It is clear to me this problem started with a combination of Joomla 3.5 and updating to the Matukio 6 series and I have not changed my template. I’ve seen differences in the way the component’s content is displayed with the template I use. For example, the hyperlinks generated on Events List page are no longer blue but the default hyperlink colour (green) for my template, which was always displayed by other components but not Matukio’s. Additional Booking Field labels are now properly aligned to the left side and not the right on the booking form. However, event images are again now easing in (becoming larger) when hovered upon.

Most of the following issues started with the Matukio 5.2 series: The Google ReCapthca no Captcha works OK with all other components on my site but not with Matukio on certain servers (Siteground.) I’ve also read (and still experience myself) that some other Matukio subscribers have problems with the modal e-mail contact form not closing after the Send button has been clicked on. On the localhost (Wamp) the booking form does not appear and is followed by a server timed out page, but this does not happen on a live server with the same site.

Using the Protostar Template as a base for explaining that the Matukio component functions normally at your end does nothing for most people who would not and do not use the Protostar template. A component as complex as Matukio, should be tested extensively on a variety of servers with different templates to overcome the continuous fundamental problems that arise. Though I understand you don’t have enough software developers for this to happen.

Offering Matukio as non-commercial (free version) along with a commercial version of the component would allow many people to use Matukio, as one could with the free Seminar component from which Matukio is derived, and offer about 30 to 50% less options or features. Widely used components such as Hika Shop and ACY Mailing do this, resulting in a more practical component for their end users who do not have to pay for a subscription to a component to experience and inform developers of various problems that are more likely to be resolved resulting from the greater use of a non-commercial version of the component. This is an observation gained from using Joomla for 10 years and not a criticism of your expertise.

The Matukio event component is the best of its kind for options and presentation but inconsistent functionality in basic areas important to end users and subscribers prevents Matukio, I feel, from making it the most popular Joomla Event component.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen

Let me start with the following: We don't provide support for template problems ( Support policy ). We always try to help out though, which is very time consuming. The actual product costs often don't match the support costs in these cases, if you estimate the average hourly rates here in Germany..

And most extension providers don't and no one tests extensivly with all template providers out there. We test with default Joomla, t3-framework and Gantry.. We have automated system and unit tests etc. and invested much time automatically finding new regressions and bugs before a release.

I have a test site with Joomla 3.4.8, Matukio 5.2.8 installed and the template has bootstrap 3.3.6 integrated into its framework

Test it with 6.0.4 ... And it is working there with protostar (just looking at it), you can confirm that for example on our two demo sites (one with protostar and one with t3)..

For example, the hyperlinks generated on Events List page are no longer blue but the default hyperlink colour (green) for my template, which was always displayed by other components but not Matukio’s. Additional

We are using a strapped version of bootstrap (else we would even have more support with CSS), but we try to leave as much as possible to the template, instead of enforcing things..

However, event images are again now easing in (becoming larger) when hovered upon.

That#s a wanted effect, if you don't like it you can just disable it with CSS.

The Google ReCapthca no Captcha works OK with all other components on my site but not with Matukio on certain servers (Siteground.)

??? What does not work.. The new recaptcha is basicall javascript based. And our sites are on siteground too and working fine. Did you open a ticket to this?

I’ve also read (and still experience myself) that some other Matukio subscribers have problems with the modal e-mail contact form not closing after the Send button has been clicked on.

Because of this we switched from Joomla! bootstrap modals (yes they are default joomla ones, so not our failure, but the template ones....) to magnific popup in Matukio 6. Since then we did not have a single report with that.. And it should work for you too.

Offering Matukio as non-commercial (free version) along with a commercial version of the component would allow many people to use Matukio, as one could with the free Seminar component from which Matukio is derived, and offer about 30 to 50% less options or features

We have free and pro versions in some of our other extensions (hotspots and ccomment), but in Matukio it's harder to separate.. Sure you could sell a payment plugin for 20 Euro or a view (like other extensions doing).. Maybe sometime, but we won't provide support for free versions.. When you look at other extensions (including the ones you mentioned) they also don't do that.. Only on paid subscriptions. See we don't have few installations of Matukio. It's time consuming supporting the current customers already (> 80% are non-bug questions by the way). So we maybe going to switch to another subscription type (download only -> cheaper, premium -> more expensive then now)..

Let's fix your open problems, so you are happy please ;)

Hello Yves,

Thank you for the recent Matukio update 6.0.6 and your interest in fixing the issues I’ve mentioned in this thread. The tooltip is now showing normally (from v. 6.0.5) on the booking form and the google recaptacha no captcha works (for now) on my siteground test site. I did update the php version to 5.6.21 from 5.4, though I'm not sure if this solved the recaptcha problem.

As payments are part of booking an event on my site there are three pages to my booking form and despite the payment option being on the second page, I’ve been unable to transition to the second page because when the “next” button on the first page is selected a message comes up “Please choose a payment method” See Image below.

Have you had this problem occur? This has happened twice and was resolved when I reinstalled the component again (v. 6.0.5), but it happened again today, so I have installed v6.0.6 and the issue has gone away again, but we’ll see what happens when I come back to the booking form again.

On the upcoming events page the month on the timeline badge is displayed twice, I hope this can be fixed in your next release:

Could you tell me what the “(Calendar file)” link on the booking details page is supposed display? When I click on this link I just get a 404 error page. Hovering over the hyperlink displays “/ics/11/component/raw” along with my site’s URL.

Could you tell me what updates were made to which Paypal plugin? The standard or the Pro? I see no changes in the standard one, which means that when a refund is made, through Paypal, the notification booking e-mails and invoice are still sent again!

Ich danke Ihnen für weitere Unterstützung

This sounds like a javascript problem. But with 6.0.6 we haven't changed anything related to the booking javascript file (only a small display currency fix, but not a bug which would explain that). When it shows up again, just drop me a line with link and access and i take a look. Probably some javascript incompatibilities.

This is an issue with the time format setting migration from previous version. You just need to adjust the date format setting for the upcoming events in the Matukio configuration.

Could you tell me what the “(Calendar file)” link on the booking details page is supposed display

You should be able to download a calendar file (for outlook, imail, calendar etc.) for the events or a single event.

You can try it here:

demo.compojoom.com/matukio/upcoming-even...-with-different-fees

We optimized the plugin a bit (the normal / standard one) and did some optimizations on the callback and merged the latest updates from the joomla common payment api repo..

which means that when a refund is made, through Paypal, the notification booking e-mails and invoice are still sent again!

Yep known issue, as we are using the joomla common payment api and it does always trigger an event when the IPN from paypal is sent.. Probably need to fix that ourselves..
