TOPIC: Waiting list not work

I found one "bug" (or may be just wrond configuration)
after all available places are booked, new reservations goes to waiting list as expected.
But if someone cancel his /her booking, reservations from waiting list are not going to be booked.
There is free place and new student can book event.
It is as designed, or I have some misconfiguration here?

Hi Mikal,

a ticket on the waitinglist is not automatically transformed to an active one. There are multiple reasons for that:

1.) Payment (waiting list bookings are not paid during booking)
2.) What should happen if the user cancels one seat, but the next in line on waitinglist has more then one seat. So we can't use the booking cancel event here, but need a cronjob (have that on my todo-list)
3.) For most people it works out better when this is done manually, going to add an booking stop option with Matukio 5.3 though

Thank you for answer.
For me are all described scenarios irrelevant as student are allowed to book only one place and payment is disabled.
There is nobody who really check reservations - teachers open some date, and student need to book themselves for the exam. Teacher define how many student can join exam.
Sometimes students are not prepared very well and they decide to cancel their reservation (teacher can define until when) - and free place can be boob by other student.
So in this particular reason it really make sense, that student from "waitinglist" are automatically booked for free places.
Is it possible to setup Matukio this way? Or even add this feature?
