We have Matukio 5.1.3 on Joomla 2.5 with a lot of data.
How can we migrate to Matukio 5.2.8 on Joomla 3.4.8 which is installed on a new server?
Just copy the old database?
Is there some Export/Import way?

Hi Jürgen,

hmm it's a bit more complicated, because of the joomla categories. You should have kept the Joomla 2.5 site and update that site to 3.4.8, so you would still have all tables / categories - just missing new data.

First thing you should do is uninstalling Matukio 5.2.8 on the 3.4.8 site, delete all Matukio tables (#__matukio*) and then install 5.1.3, so that the table version matches. After that you can import all data from the 2.5 version. There are many tools for exporting and importing table data only (like phpmyadmin, heidesql, navicat etc.)

Kind regards,
Yves

Thanks for the tip,
It certainly happens to other people too, you design a new homepage from scratch and you do testing with it.
If you are finished, you need to import some data from the old website. You do not want to loose Informations from applications like Matukio.....

Therefore some export/import (which takes care for all the User-, Article-, Categories-ID's and non existing users etc.) would be nice.
But this is certainly not trivial.... :S

.....Maybe it's easier to start from the beginning and keep the old page as an archive.....
