TOPIC: Matukio 5.2.4. – Contact, Language & Payment Issue

Hi Mr B,

1.) I need a link to say something to the not authorized message - this is not the default behavior.

The email in the organizers profile is not overwriting the joomla users one, this is never wanted that way (see tooltip). It was planned to just show that address in the frontend, but i never implemented that..

So probably going to remove it anyway.

2.) Yep this is a known issue. The payment plugins are not provided by use (at least most of them are not - we wrote 3 which don't have this issue(except one)). But i have it on my todo-list .. Makes updates for us harder..

3.) The paypal plugin supports just successful callbacks, nothing else (except cancellation), so refunding is currently not integrated. As i said above, it's not written by us. With Matukio 6 there will be a big review of the existing payment plugins.. and maybe i rewrite the important ones like paypal myself.. :/

4.) The placeholder is BLZ E.g. just create a language override for that..

Hmmm... Not sure what you mean by this! Do mean a link to my site to see what is happening? If so copy and paste the following:

ptmaps.echs.eu/appointments-events.html

I have set up an organiser with your name and e-mail address so complete the e-mail form and see what happens then check your e-mail account to see if you have received the e-mail.

Not sure what's going on, do you have any SEF Plugins active like SH404 etc.?

Thanks for your reply. Indeed SEF URLs are the problem here as using Joomla’s native (non SEF) URLs allows the form to be closed automatically when a message is sent and I am not using any third party SEF components or plugins. My template’s structure is basic and highly customisable (so that the code can be added, changed or removed). I would like to know what code and where I would need to use so that this contact form can function normally, as the error message is the only problem, because the e-mail is actually sent!

Alternatively, would you be able to adapt Matukio’s code (such as an override for me to include just for my template) for this modal e-mail form as it is the ONLY area of your component that does not work as it should with my template.

I’ve invested quite a bit of time in the template I am using and do not want to change it and nor do I want to use just non SEF URLs on my site. Your feedback with a solution would be welcome. Vielen Dank

This is not a thing fixed in one day or a simple solution.. Need to test why this is happening.. (recreate the issue) and then fix it, you are the only one with this issue, so i have to find out what makes you special etc... Have it on my todo-list for Matukio 5.2.6 or 5.2.7

Thanks for your reply. I contacted the developer of the template I’m using and he believes this SEF URL matter relates to the modal form, as he said the template does not ignore “format=raw”. Do you have the syntax data that shows the template has this problem? I tried the “Modern” template mode for the event details page and clicking on the contact button for the organiser and sending the modal e-mail form works normally with SEF URLs! So it appears the Bootstrap mode for the contact form is the problem. Why would the template I’m using not cause the error in “Modern” mode if you say it ignores “format=raw”?

Secondly, the error message “Sending failed parsererror”, is this message generated by the component Matukio? If so where can I find this message as it is not in the language file? As I could change this message, temporarily, to a confirmation message until you are able to resolve this matter. Vielen Dank.

Hi Mr B,

in the modern template it works completely different, that has nothing to do with the problem. Here we use a AJAX send and this fails..

It fails a way it should never - this is the reason you see this alert.. It's intended for admins (or me) only, so it's not translated like normal error messages..

It's in the template files.. So you would need to edit 3 different templates..

Going to change this to a console.log in the next version, but this won't fix your sites problem..

Thanks for your reply. Before attempting to look into your extension’s code, the issue with the error message” Sending failed parsererror” when attempting send an e-mail to an organiser still persists despite the update to 5.2.6 one week ago.

I managed to find an earlier test site that has Matukio 5.1.3 installed with the current template I’m using and I was able to send an e-mail without the error message being displayed. However, as soon as installed version 5.2.0 the error message appears. This is clearly something caused by whatever changes you made between Matukio 5.1.3 and the 5.2.0 series and is conflicting with my template for this particular issue. Looking at the change-log you've provided with the release of 5.2.0, I would not know what is listed in the update to cause this problem.

Would you have an idea of what changes you have made in 5.2.0 that would cause this error message to be generated? As I’ve not made any changes to my template, you should look at what specific changes to the Matukio 5.2.0 you may feel has caused this. Is it possible for you to do that?

Have you thought about what may be causing the problem with the template that I’m using with with Matukio 5.2+ series that I didn’t have with Matukio 5.1+ ? A response of some sort, within a reasonable time frame, would be welcome whether or not you have a solution in mind. As I’m beginning to feel this is an issue that you’d rather not deal with. What do you call a reasonable time frame?

I can't tell you anything new - the thing is that i completely rewrote the contact form and improved it with Matukio 5.2 (It shows confirmation messages now, can use placeholders and a lot of other nice things), so it's not only a one line change and the issue was there before on your site (IMO) but just not shown.

I have your problem on my todo-list for Matukio 5.2.7. As i said this is not a minute thing..

Thanks for your reply. A reasonable time frame for a response to a support enquiry is 12 to 24 hours, based on what is written as feature when subscribing to/buying one of the two of the Matukio components shown with support time responses, unless this just relates to a support ticket. However, 24 hours should be the maximum for a commercial component even with enquiries posted in the forum.

Any after installing the Matukio 5.2.7 the problem still occurs with the error message , as I’ve shown earlier in this thread but the e-mail is sent. No changes there. There are some errors on most sites and they are masked, if debugging is not activated, but still a site can be functional. As the e-mail is being sent the function is not the problem it’s the error message that is displayed. You have already found the problem as being an SEF URL issue so is there rewrites to the code that relate more to this matter you can look at? I would appreciate your persistence to overcome this matter.

Hmm i don't understand why it still shows up, i removed all alerts from Matukio. Need to test at your site again... Any active template overrides?

You are still listed as an organiser for one of the events with your e-mail address. Okay checked again. You are sure this is 5.2.7? Looks like the fix is not included in it.
