TOPIC: Event files

Hello - this may be a feature request rather than question, but when creating an event in the backend, is it possible to have an option to point an existing file already on the local server rather than having it prompt upload from my computer? I have files already on server that i want to link to rather than having them re-uploaded to another area. Hope this makes sense!?

Hi Pete,

currently not - the files are saved in the database and not in a folder currently (Seminar behavior .. going to change that somewhen). So that's the reason the file needs to be uploaded every time. But i added a link to file feature to the wish-list - you will be able to use custom fields for that too.

Thanks Yves, will be a good option to have. Or even have an option to link to documents stored on on-line storage providers (dropbox etc...). Guess that kind integration will need a lot of work to hook into the various providers api's though?

Mentioning custom fields makes me ask the question all developers hate! When do you think that feature will come? A rough idea would be great.

Custom fields will come with Matukio 5.2 - somewhen during march.

where should the event files show on the event page ?
I have uploaded a PDF file for the event but cannot find it on the front end event page ?
