Hi All,

Okay, I must be missing something here. All events in the front end are visible for me as an administrator, but no matter what I try, the events are not showing up for registered users, not in the Module and not in the Component...

I have set the access level for component, module and the categories to registered, so normal registered users should be able to view the events.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Sebastiaan

Update: I just tried creating a new event, but this one also does not show up for registered users. For admins however, it shows up.

Update2:

Creating a new menu item does not display any events.

The only way events are displayed is if I choose "Upcoming Events". Then the events will show. This however gives an error message for every event showed:
Notice: Undefined property: MatukioViewUpcomingEvents::$event in /components/com_matukio/views/upcomingevents/tmpl/default.php on line 112 Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in /components/com_matukio/views/upcomingevents/tmpl/default.php on line 112 |

Still looking for some insight/help. Is it a bug? Am I not doing something right?

Update3:

I installed a fresh Joomla 2.5.6 and a fresh Matukio on this site. Created an event and voila there it shows for registered users.

So I have been digging in the mysql tables and found that in the new database the access field in the _matukio database is set to 1. In my imported table from seminar this field is set to 0. I updated all the fields in this table to 1, but still the events will not show for registered users. When I create a new event on this site, it also shows with access 1, but still does not show.

What does this access field do??

The categories are set to registered users only and I have compared the ACL settings between this install and the fresh install. They are the same. All users have the correct user group associated with them (registered).

I really need help with this as my site heavily depends on Matukio/Seminar! Not being able to show events means I cannot upgrade to J2.5 and will be stuck with J1.5!

Update4:

Well, when I access the component directly without logging in:
index.php/component/matukio/eventlist?sem_midx=0&sem_jidx=0
All events will show up! Even though all categories are set to registered users only. I tested this on my new fresh test site and this behaviour also occurs on this site.

Why are all the events visible to unregistered users, but not to registered users in either the module or the component?

Hi,

setting a category access level to registered (or any other userlevel) is currently not working, they have to be public. Matukio uses the Joomla categories, which causes some ACL issues.

We are going to switch to an own category manager in an later version (this will make things much easier, including category images etc.)

Not sure why the events do not show up for you. You could add me on Skype (yves.hoppe) and then we have a closer look.

Best regards,

Yves

Update 5:

I have been experimenting with the categories. I had one category set to public access and all others to registered users only. I changed this public one to registered. Now all events show up in the events list and in the module.

Go figure...

Hi, Yves.

I also have this issue of events not showing and I have done all I could to no avail. The event list and upcoming events are not just showing. I bought this components just a few days ago.

Hi Isaac,

can you provide a link and some more details? What do you mean with not showing? Did you create a Joomla menu entry for them and then the is page empty or what do you mean?

Kind regards,

Yves

Your two events are in the past:

Set filter to old events and you see them.

The begin is in the past - you can set when an event should not be shown anymore (at the begin, closing date or end) in the Matukio settings.. Default is begin.

Wow! Thanks Yves. I didn't think of that. Every works fine now. One more thing, how do I make the currency symbol appear to the left of the amount? e.g ₦25000.00. Now it is showing Fees: 250000.00 ₦ p.p.

Currently there is now setting for that - we have a list of currencies where the fee is shown left. What currency is that? :) Going to add it to the list with the next version.

The currency sign is U+20A6 ₦ (Naira sign). It is the Nigerian currency.
