TOPIC: Captcha not working

I just installed the comment component, but the Captcha security doesn't work. I get just a ? instead of an image. I understand from previous posts that GD Freetype needs to be installed. phpinfo() doesn't show anything about GD Freetype. How can I see if it's installed? If it's not, will I have any other options?

I just checked, GB library is not enabled. can you please check the same. basically Captcha is not able to find method ImageCreateFromPNG() and throwing following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function imagecreatefrompng() in /home/glassalc/public_html/beta/components/com_comment/joscomment/captcha.php on line 38

The GD (you said GB) Library is now enabled. And, it has not fixed the issue. Do you have another suggestion?
