I have installed Joomlacomments on my site at www.vero-fs.com

I can see the form only in the ABOUT page (which is a regual article page) but not in the portfolio pages.

Someone can help me out?

Thanks a lot!

Just from looking at your site, you are using a component from Portfolio Design.
Which in turn means that the !JoomlaComments will need a plugin and probably a small hack to get that in place.

In other words, it looks like this is not some automatic easy solution. Then again I am not a programmer, but I see this has been the solution for other components such as Virtuemart, hwdVideoShare, Events etc.

I tried looking at the Forums for Portfolio Design, but that was down. Perhaps someone has already made an integration there. Doubtful, but you never know.

I also see this has been discussed previously here, and Daniel was going to look into it, that was about 7 months ago.

Thanks so much Nils! It was very nice of you to give me such detailed info.

It seems like I have to get rid of that template which was really cool and did the job right as I wanted. What a shame, the designer never replies to emails nor in his forum.

Thanks again!
Gabriele

Always glad to help as best I can. :)

However, this is not a template issue, but a component case.
Don't just dump the template yet, wait for Daniel or JonusC to reply.
Daniel is a wiz at programming this stuff once he digs into it!

Yeah, it was easy to see what your site was dealing with, and presented itself very neatly.

Perhaps you might want to try out some other component to do the job of presenting your stuff in the meantime, so you still use the same template.
There are many solutions: Joomgallery has a built in comments solution too. Although it is not as comprehensive as !JoomlaComments, it still does the job in the meantime.

Nils, are u saying that I can temporary get rid of the sliding content in manifolio until JC is fixed after ver4, as stated by Daniel in the other topic you sent me to?

Since the Joomgallery uses a commenting system for each image (which I don't care/need), do you know of a gallery component with comment system for the whole gallery, maybe one with a flash viewer so it doesn't reload the page for each image?

thanks again!
G

I think you can custom install a flash viewer to some of these galleries.
I know that Phoca is also a system that has an enormous amount of variables, and with a commenting system encorporated.
-Again, the commenting system is far from as good as this one, but it is there.

I am not sure if it for the whole gallery or individual photos. -Can't remember...

I am only suggesting the thought of keeping the basic structure/template you have, but with a different component for viewing your photos etc, since your template is nice etc.

I was disappointed with Phoca because of it's reliance on Adobe Flash :( When you look at something like the PhotoSlide GK2 Demo's for example, you can see that it's very possible to look pretty without being flash  still that's just my opinion...

I'll have to trial a few in that Extension Directory category because I can't seem to see JoomlaComment support for any...

Tell me which gallery we should support and we are going to support it (if it is not flash based :))

I have written a plugin for this one:
www.corephp.com/jphoto/about.html

but the guys from corePHP still haven't added the code for joomlacomment and that is why I haven't released it yet.
