no, you are supposed to have only .htaccess after that you can turn on the mod_rewrite feature in the joomla configuration.

``The great thing about mod_rewrite is it gives you all the configurability and flexibility of Sendmail. The downside to mod_rewrite is that it gives you all the configurability and flexibility of Sendmail.''

im reading different sites about this mod-rewrite htacess what i dont get is how is related to joomlacomment issue...

my website currently running on localhost has no issues whatsoever..

its merely when i install joomlacomment do the pages with articles dont appear and a microsoft HTTP Apache error comes..

i aslo saw this on a forum ...

"From what I can see, I don't see any reason why you couldn't just delete that section and uncomment the "Jooomla! core SEF Section"

Removing index.php can be setup in "Global Configuration" under the option "Use Apache mod_rewrite""

am i supposed to do sthng in global config?

what you say is impossible.

You should have problems with your site also without joomlacomment, because you haven't configured the url rewrite as it should. Make a test.

Don't use mod_rewrite to generate url(don't select this option in the config) and install joomlacomment. If it is working then, then it is clearly not a problem of joomlacomment.

Also - check your error log. It will give you more information on the problem.

(1) I recommend using XAMPP instead of WAMP, in my experience it was always more stable than WAMP for Joomla but that's just my opinion, could of been luck or my hardware/OS config.

(2) The reason why you had two htaccess files is probably because you have File Extensions hidden - you still need to remove the .TXT so it becomes a ".htaccess file" instead of "Notepad document"

(3) a # means it is a comment - when that's in the .htaccess file it means everything after the # (on the same line) is ignored

I forgot to write that we fixed the problem. It was nothing related to apache, but to rockettheme candy or something like that. When the plugin was enabled, then the system was crashing.
