I am using joomlacomment 3.25 and my joomla 1.5.10 is running in Legacy mode 1.0. I need help in adjusting the width for posted comments. Looks like it is set to about 500 px and I need it at around 900. Can you direct me to the exact spot where I can make that change? I'm painfully new to Joomla.

I did find the a default css in joscomment/templates/default/css and it looks to me like the "comment .form" width is set to 100% which would be perfect. But, that's not what I am seeing when someone posts a comment so I'm going to assume I haven't found the right place yet to make the change.

Thanks much,

I've been reading everything I can find here about the width of the comment form and found this one from last year:
#comment #CommentMenu {
width: 70%;
float: left;

// #2

#comment .post {
width: 70%;
float: left;

// #3

#comment .form {
width: 70%;
float: left;

This answer was to adjust the size and spacing but now I am wondering why the 100% width that is set for my #comment .form setting is not giving me 100%. I checked the other areas and they have no setting for width at all, should I add them to the css to say 'width: 100%' for each of those listed above? My god I am sounding desparate.

Jaime, I think the best thing will be to forget abour legacy mode and update to joomlacomment 4.0 beta2 and use the modern template :)

If you don't wish to do so, please give me a link to your website and tell me again what exactly do you want to be 100%.

I wish I could upgrade but I have some old stuff I need to keep for now.
Here's the link. www.quakeforum.org/index.php/component/content/article/133 (must have the www)

You'll see some comments posted after the article, I want them to be wider...100%

Thanks for the help.

173 views and no one can help me?!?! C'mon people, I'm desperate. I cannot upgrade to the newer and totally fantastic version of Joomla because I have modules (plugins) that are old and are not supported by the newer versions of Joomla. Until docman and the bridge I am using for the forum are updated I'm suck running in legacy mode.

I know someone has some idea of how to get my comments to be wider and fit in more with the size of the webpage. I'll try anything! http://www.quakeforum.org/index.php/component/content/article/133 This page is an educational endeavor and you could think of it as doing your good deed toward better education. And if that doesn't work....I will bake chocolate chip cookies and mail them to whoever can solve my width problem. I hope bribes are allowed here.

sorry Jaime,
I forgot about this thread. I suppose that you want to have the text take all the page space. Just go to the backend, under security and set Line max length: to -1. Then the text will stretch and fit all the page size.

I'm waiting for those cookies :)

YES! That did it! I feel so stupid now I was digging around in the files and messing with things I shouldn't be touching. Thank you so much, my comments look awesome now. You are my hero. I have had 6 people working on this.

Cookies are yours...just send address and preference for nuts or no nuts.
