Hi. I installed joomlacomments a month or so ago and for most part it worked great. I had a few emails from people who said that after entering the captcha letters the icon would just spin. I have since disabled captcha to see if this would help, but it didn't. I uninstalled the component today and reinstalled a fresh version hoping this would help, but it seems the problem has got worse because now I have to refresh the page in order to see the comment.

Is there something I can do to rectify this as I have no way of letting users that they must refresh.

I haven't installed any new components/plugins so not sure what went wrong.

Thanks so much for your time.

could you give me a link to your page, so that we can test it ourselves?

Thanks so much for the super quick reply!

The URL is

Also - I noticed that I now have comments on the homepage (my uncategorized section). I didn't have this before so perhaps I have missed something in the setup.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

would you open your configuration.php file and look for a value for live_site? If you have one please delete and look if it is working :)

no,no. I'm talking about the standard joomla configuration file residing in the root of your site.

OK. Deleted the line, but would not let me save it once it was edited. Tried 3 or 4 but it still says "error - cannot save configuration files" Not sure what to do now.

Are you the owner of the file? If not, then you must become the owner and rewrite it.

The users always have this problem with the live site variable - I have no idea who writes it in, but all my standard joomla installation don't have it. (also search the forum, I believe that a user who had the same problem was also not able to save the changes he makes to the file)

What are you using to edit it? Try downloading it first to your PC, either in cPanel File Manager or FTP, then edit it, then upload again over-writing the original.
