TOPIC: how do users get notified of new posts?

how do users get notified of new posts?
I selected 'notified' when posting. then logged in as another user and posted a comment. then logged in as the first user: no notification in email or uddeim-mailbox.

so what happens with 'Enable users notification :' in the config?

You should gen an e-mail if you configured the e-mail settings right (that you do in your joomla global configuration)

In the template I stripped a bit too much code out, so notification was always 0 in database.

sorry about that.

But even when notify is set to 0, when a comment gets unpublished, users get a notification of that. How to stop that? Is there is no separate way to configure these sort of notifications?
