Hi, I'm thinking of downloading this Joomla extension soon, and I was wondering when the lastest version will be finished with the Beta phase.

Also, do comments that people post to articles on my Joomla site get stored in my host's server or do they get stored on your server?

Finally, what is your policy regarding personal info that may be posted by people when submitting their comments? If people input their email addresses and websites, does your company compile them and if so, what does your company do with this information?

LOL, everything is stored on your server :) We don't have any access to the comments data :) It is your responsiblity to do whatever you want with it. We just offer you the code.

The beta phase - well soon :) Sofar beta1 is really stable - no critical bugs, nothing. I'm waiting on an integration with recaptcha and will release beta2, then stable. I believe that till the end of August we should have removed the beta tag :)

Everything is stored on your localsite's database and will never be sent back to us :) JoomlaComment does not give email addresses or website addresses to any organistation or company, they are kept on your website only.

E-Mail addresses are not public and are stored for your use only (they can be seen in the JoomlaComment backend) but are also used as a form of verification (will be improved in future) and to email notifications if the user chooses to stay subscribed to updated comments.

The website link a user enters is indeed public, however they are given the tag rel="external nofollow" so the Google spiderbots don't wander off to their site and index it as a backlink - so spambots don't get pagerank score for useless comments :)
