TOPIC: Comments for category

Hi,

I've got 4.0 alpha going without any issues. I have comments for every article on the site.

Now, I would like to add comments for the sections. Is there any way to do this?

Use the backend and choose the sections and categories you wish for the comments to appear.

Ok, I did not make myself clear...

I have 5 articles in a section.
I have a "section blog layout" and I can see "add comment" link after every article. It's all works fine.

Now, the category itself also has a "description" - text, pictures appearing in the "section blog layout". I wanted to enable comments to this part - to the whole section, no just every article within the section.

I don't think I can do this with joomlacomment.
My workaround is to completely remove my category description and add a "general section" article. So it's all fine, I have a solution...

Nope, you can not comment to the section itself. But why should anyone comment to a section anyway?

Yeah, this kind of thing is outside the current scope of JoComment I think. Perhaps in JoComment 4.1, but also considering how much work it'd take to do I see little use for it

In my case, section-wide comments are suggestions what else should be included in the section. The sort of visitors wish-list...

Since there is a workaround, I would not worry too much about it. It may be worth mentioning in FAQ.

Again, bullet proof CAPTCHA is way more important
