Kind regards, Paul

Hi Paul,
I believe you are refering to myblog from azrul. Our component doesn't work with it, since myblog is paid component and nobody from azrul wished to give us a copy of the extension so we could make a plugin for it. (I can understand this - they have their own comment extension jomcomment)

If you wish to see a plugin for myblog I would be happy if you send me your copy of myblog_pro and I will write a plugin for this blog component.

Hey gaminch,
I've sent you a PM with my e-mail. Please send me the component and I will write the plugin :)

@paul - sorry but I've missed your post and I also didn't get something from you.

quick question - it seems to me that my blog doesn't offer any categories sorting or am I wrong?

In this case should we be able to disable to comments on specific tags or what? What do we do with articles that have 10 tags and joomlacomment was forbidden on one of them?

I think to skip the implementation on this and let joomlacomment be either on or off.

Hm, Ok. I see that I was wrong yesterday. MyBlog uses the standard joomla section and categories.

But I still don't understand how it fully functions.

In general settings I can choose the sections that can be managed with myblog - I can choose all content sections.

But when I try to publish a new blog I have only one category available - myblog????

I have the feeling that I should write the plugin just as the normal one for content - in backend you will have access to all sections and categories and should choose then where the plugin should show.

Is it ok this way?

Hello,

yes that's a good point, now that I look in the backend, it look a little bit confusing.
from what I understand, in Myblog you can Select one or more sections to be managed using MyBlog. Then u choose the name of one section ( it has only 1 category, by default is myblog) where u want to store new entries. At the end, seem like all sections managed by myblog are store in 1 single section with one single category (by default Myblog)

by the way: here something I found from the jomsocial forum:

MyBlog will create an article section called 'MyBlog'. You can treat this like the Joomla's built-in articles component. You can create categories under MyBlog section. You can also set the permission to 'public', 'registered' or 'special' just like any other article's section and category.

Not sure if this help :)

There is a way to add new categories. If you go in the top menu under content => category manager, you can add a category and classify the section as myblog. This new category will then appear when you are selecting a category for a blog post. Hope those instructions make sense.

Maybe you can help me out. Im trying to install comments on myblog, I know you were discussing this here - was there a conclusion?

The plugin for myblog is nearly ready.

I've written it so that it takes all joomlacomment sections and categories (just as the com_content) - you have to select the one you want in the backend. If you want to enable comments everywhere then you can leave it as it is :)
