I'm a newbie regarding this, so sorry if my question seems strange. This extension seems wonderful and may be just the thing I've been looking for but it concerns me that a comment at joomla.org says: "This extension by default includes hidden links/advertising."

There is also a user comment complaining that his or hers website was blocked (by ISP?) because ads weren't allowed on their server. I want to avoid ending in a similar situation since my joomla site is hosted at a server intended only for non-commercial use (no ads allowed). So before installing anything I'll have to ask: Is it possible to disable the hidden links/ads in JoomlaComment or will I have to look for another extension?

I've looked in the faq and searched the forum, but I didn't find this mentioned anywhere?

Hey there!
I saw the user comment and the editor comment both today and I must say that they are somewhat misleading.
Yes it is true - joomlacomment alpha3 includes ads and this was a little bit stupid implemented from my side. (they are enabled by default)
But nobody said that you can not disable them and that they are hidden.
Yes you can disable them! just empty the code in the advertisment section or just remove the {ads}{/ads} tags in the template and ready.

With beta1 the behaivour of the ads is going to change. They will not be enabled per default and the user must opt in to enable them.

Again, I want to underline this: there are no hidden links or advertising. Everything is out there and can be changed!
