TOPIC: Blank page after installing on Version 1.5.9

Hi there,

There is probably a very simple answer to this question that is staring me right in the face, but I am too blind to see it. Anyway, I have just had Joomla Version 1.5.9 installed for my web site. We want to add the ability to use comments and your program seems like the best after much research.

I have downloaded the joomlacomment4.0.0alpha3.zip file and headed to Extensions -> Install/Uninstall. I then browsed for that file and hit 'Upload File & Install'. And that is as far as I got, because it next comes up with a blank page. Do I need to activate something somewhere else? Is it compatible with the version I am using? Any other ideas?

check your error log and come back with more info.

Thanks for the quick reply. Where do I find the error log? I did a help search within Joomla, but could not locate it.

Look at your hosting control panel.

I contacted my web hosting company and they sent me the error log relating to the problem.

Does this shed any light on the problem? The web hosting company informed me that they have the latest version of PHP installed, if that helps.

Since this is not your server I don't know if your hosting is willing to assist you. Changing the maximum execution time to 60 seconds should solve the problem.
