TOPIC: max length of comment

hello - just a quick question..

right now, if I set a "post max length" setting, say of 2,000 characters, it seems that posters can add posts as long as they want, but then when it is approved the post will appear with 2,000 characters only, with the rest cut off...

Is there a way of constraining the length of the post as it is being entered, i.e. the poster would be unable to enter more characters than the set limit?

No right now not. We are saving all the comment and then display only the limit set.
You can add this to the wish list if you really want it
