Well, the alpha is installable :P

Sorry man! I have a lot of things on my mind right now, so I pushed the release a little bit.

There was a problem reported with one function - the wordwrap :S and I need to fix this.

Wordwrap is standard php function, but unfortunately it is not working with utf8 characters. The functions that I saw proposed on www.php.net/wordwrap are not making what they are proposing so I will need to sit down and write my own function for the purpose.

Another thing that is bothering me is the blanc screen on manage comments. I still not sure why it occurs on some installations - I suppose database problems, but I'm not quite sure.

This are the main reasons why !joomlacomment is not in a beta phase or in a stable one.

Thanks for understanding!

Daniel keep your good work. The only thing that keep me using legacy mode is joomlacomment. I hope it will change soon. Maybe some of us who know php can help you ?

Hey kerios!
The 4.0 alpha3 is pretty stable right now! No terrible bugs or something like that. I will be free to work on joomlacomment in one week so this time I will get the beta before the 24th of may.

If you want to help - here are the open issues:
dev.compojoom.com/projects/jocomment/issues

You can check them and propose a bug fix in the forum.
Everyone is welcome to do this.

P.S. And please don't forget to vote for us here: joomlashack.uservoice.com/pages/17847-ul...186105-joomlacomment :)

Hi Daniel, not sure if you noticed or only i have this issue but when I log in from backend and go to manage comments trying to use the field search.. it does not work. It only brings the following error:
Unknown column 'c.importedtable' in 'where clause' SQL=SELECT count(*) FROM jos_comment AS c LEFT JOIN jos_content AS ct ON ct.id = c.contentid WHERE c.component = '' AND ( LOWER(c.comment) LIKE '%test%' OR LOWER(ct.title) LIKE '%test%' OR LOWER(c.name) LIKE '%test%' OR LOWER(c.website) LIKE '%test%' OR LOWER(c.email) LIKE '%test%' OR LOWER(c.ip) LIKE '%test%' OR LOWER(c.importedtable) LIKE '%test%' )DB function failed with error number 1054
Unknown column 'c.importedtable' in 'where clause' SQL=SELECT c.*, u.email AS usermail, ct.title AS ctitle FROM jos_comment AS c LEFT JOIN jos_users AS u ON u.id = c.userid LEFT JOIN jos_content AS ct ON ct.id = c.contentid WHERE c.component = '' AND ( LOWER(c.comment) LIKE '%test%' OR LOWER(ct.title) LIKE '%test%' OR LOWER(c.name) LIKE '%test%' OR LOWER(c.website) LIKE '%test%' OR LOWER(c.email) LIKE '%test%' OR LOWER(c.ip) LIKE '%test%' OR LOWER(c.importedtable) LIKE '%test%' ) ORDER BY c.id DESC LIMIT 0,20

Note that I used word test to display this error. I used to use the latest stable version 3.26 and the entire tables left after the original version. Seems like there is some incompatability.

If you already know about this error, then please ignore my post.

Thank you

Jiri

Your version is 3.26?
I'm testing this on 4.0 alpha3 and I don't have any error.

Are you recommend do use the 4.0 beta on production environments?

Well beta1 is still not ready, but the alpha is stable enough :)
No critical bugs so far - use with caution! Test on non production site and if it is working, then you can use it for your live projects.
