I'm a beginner, but after a LOT of study, I do have a small Joomla! 1.5.10 site up and running. I want to add the comment capability to articles.

Which files should I download and install ---all three: components, plug-ins, module? Or which one(s)?
I can find no place which gives the answer.

Is there any documentation or instructions, other than the dozen or so short videos?

Thanks for the help.

Keith

Start with this one:
compojoom.com/download/cat_view/56-jooml...mment-component.html

After you install it - if everything goes well you will be able to comment under articles.

If something goes wrong - come back and give us the error message.

Thanks.

Thanks for your help, Dan.

PS: So far, I have not been able to get it to show any comment info on articles.

PS2:
Here's what I get when I go to "Manage Comments":
List of joomlacomment Comments Search:

Id

Writer

Userid

Notify

Url

Date

Comment
(links and pictures are deactivated)

ContentItem

Published (notify-writer)

Delete (notify-writer)

IP

Voting Yes

Voting No

Parent Id

Imported from
Display #

When I go to Publish, it says "Please make a selection from the list to publish"

I have already checked the box. Selecting one of the words, such as "writer" doesn't seem to change anything.

Joomlacomment does show up under Components. Do I need to add it to a menu someplace?

It acts as if it is not published.

your account does not have the necessary rights to move the files.

That is why you will have to make it manually. Open your account trough ftp and move the files that are described in the error message to the appropriate place and the component should appear under your articles.
