TOPIC: Uninstallation/Update problems...

Hey!

I'm a real newbie in joomla, so sorry for every stupid question I may ask...
I'm just about starting a new project. Currently running on Xampp only, I hope to get online in a couple of weeks.

I wanted to use JoomlaComment ver. 3.26 and already installed it, when I realised that there is a new version 4.0. So I tried uninstalling ver. 3.26, when an error ocurred saying that unistallation wasn't succesfull due to "century.ttf" is still in use by another program (despite there was nothing else running at all...).
Now all dirs and data are still there. But curiously, joomla claims that JomCom is deleted. It completely disapeared and can't be found in back- and frontend at all.

I tried to install 4.0, which didn't work. I also tried to install 3.26 again, which also didn't work. Both times saying, that directory "com_comment" is used by another component.

As I do not care of using whether 3.26 or 4.0, but I do care about having comments enabled on my page, is there a way of manually restoring or deleting 3.26?

First turn of the apache process(start xampp and there you can stop the apache process). Then find the folder with the century.ttf, delete it and try to install 3.26 .

4.0 is in alpha version - there are still few bugs and it will be beta, but this will happen in the next days. So for the moment use 3.26

Thanks for the quick reply, but it didn't work at all.

The problem is not the century.ttf. I already deleted the joomlacomment-files all by myself from com_comment dir as joomla didn't manage to do it. But I still can't reinstall 3.26. Joomla ist still claiming, that C:\xampp\htdocs\joomla\components\com_comment is in use by another component.
But JoomlaComment is the only component I installed so far...

Well, if it is claiming that it is used, then it is used. As I said - restart apache, delete the folder and then install again.
