Hi Daniel,

I've been testing 4.0 for a while now, and this is what I've stumbled upon:

- When I enter the anti-spam-code I have to click the send-button. If I just hit [Enter] the entire comment is lost, vanished into thin air.
- Sometimes (and sorry, I don't know when and when not) when I hit the send-button, nothing happens. When I enter another comment the first and second one appear.
- Most of the time it doesn't accept the entered captcha-code (and yes, I can type it correctly)
- The notify by email doesn't work
- It still says 'Powered by !JoomlaComment 3.25' in the footer ;)

I've tested all the template-combinations on three different test-sites of mine (both hosted local and remote), they all work.
Haven't yet tested the RSS - sorry.

I hope this helps you in any way. You can always throw questions or remarks my way!

Guido Hulscher

EDIT:

I forgot the most important: managing comments gives this error:

Catchable fatal error: Object of class stdClass could not be converted to string in C:\xampp\htdocs\joomla\administrator\components\com_comment\admin.comment.html.php on line 50

Hi!

Well, this one goes fast...

Uninstalling the previous version wasn't easy - had to remove all files by hand. The uninstall didn't say anything went wrong, it just did nothing (although the plugin was removed from the list).

Installing the new version however was easy. Nice intro-text!

When typing the captcha, [ENTER] still sends me back to my article, without the comment. Clicking the SEND-button however, works like a treat.

The back-end is not available... Whatever option I choose, I get either _NOT_AUTH or justplain nothing happens.

Sorry, but I can't test more - it just isn't available! I'll await further instructions captain.

Aye!

Sorry man!
I was testing the backend rights and wanted to make the option to configure the components only from admins and super admins.

Please open admin.comment.php and uncomment
    	global $mainframe;
	$mainframe->redirect( 'index2.php', _NOT_AUTH );

or try the new build: jocomment4-a86544b8914a8b618604de2663a439a0.zip

Ah well, that worked miracles! So, here are my new findings (I don't want to be negative, just trying to help you out - I absolutley love JoomComment!):
  • I turned on the RSS, then clicked it in the frontend. I shouldn't have done that, I guess:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function sefreltoabs() in C:\xampp\htdocs\joomla\components\com_comment\comment.php on line 91

  • Email notification still doesn't work.
  • When I do a search, it returns the comment I was looking for, but now with visible UBB-code
  • In the backend, the emoticons (all of them) show up as unfound images (you know, the white square with the red cross in it)

Just stopped there, because the bathtub is full and I'm tired...

Good luck,

Guido

Hey Guido :)
Would you be so kind to test the new alpha.
The above points from your post are fixed (only the UBB-code is still there - in version 3 the UBB code while searching was also there. We will fix this first in 4.1)
