Hello,

I have recently tried installing the comments system, but, was having some serious problems with perms. Now everytime i had this issue it seems as though it was " " installed " " because it would show up in my plugin list but not give me any of the options.

After several attempts i finally got it installed to where i could edit the options for this mod.

Now after changing the settings it should display on my main page after i post articles - This isnt happening and I have been trying to figure it out for 3 nights now.

My only assumption would be something got screwy with the install. So i go to uninstall and get this error:

* Plugin Uninstall: Manifest File invalid or not found

Message

* Uninstall Plugin Error

.. So i have like 7 listings of Content - !JoomlaComment in my plugin list.

Any fix to this? and if not is there anyway to manually uninstall this so i can try re-installing.
- I would like it very much to try getting this to work but i have a feeling it might be a lost hope

Thank you,
Alex

Hey Alex,
Thank you for contacting us :)
What version do you use? And please don't say 4.0 alpha?

That is great! Don't use the alpha :) The alpha is only for tests.

So tell me is legacy mode on?

Basicly you can uninstall it by deleting all the files in components/com_content and in administrator/components/com_content

then you have to open the database using a tool such as phpmyadmin delete the component tables and also delete the entries in jos_components

One quick thing.. I had other components installed such as forum etc. So i didnt want to delete entire table, only deleted what query repsonded;

SELECT * FROM `#_components` WHERE #_components.option="com_comment"

... in my admin panel it still showing the comment system is installed.

EDIT: OK it did get rid of the comment system in the components tab, but, still shows up in my plugins list and still cant get rid of it there.

look for the plugins in the jos_plugins table.
