In JComment that I am using, I get "This Plugin cannot be reordered" . I would like to order the plugin so that I can have some control on how it comes out in the artcle view.

Has anyone done this?

Thanks,
Ingu

I don't have the same message, but my plugin (3.26) also has a wrong order, even though it's the last one on the admin plugin list.
ANyone any idea?

Hi Daniel!

This issue has suddenly become relevant for me as well... is there any cure for it?

By default I get this layout:
Article -> !JoomlaComment -> other plugins (e.g. Related Items).

Is there any way to have:
Article -> Other plugin -> !JoomlaComment ?

Thanks

I never knew why you need to reorder the plugin?

Is this helping? www.compojoom.com/forum.html?func=view&catid=10&id=205&limit=10

not really. i tried to experiment with ::JOSCusereturn but it didn’t help.

Yes, reordering is a big issue. Just imagine a long article with about 10 comments at the bottom then sort of technical field with smileys and add comment area (which looks like a logical end of the article) and then boom – “read more articles” or any other plugin...

Otherwise the plugin rules!

Hm, wait! Read more articles is normally a module. This basically means that even if reordering works you will be not able to get read more articles before the comment.

yes, but i am using "Content - Related Articles Tags" plugin, which gets published right beneath the "!JoomlaComment" :) Please take a look at the attached screenshot.

Besides, as some people were mentioning earlier, adding diferent "ranking" and "written by" plugins will also get me into trouble with this ordering issue...

thanks

Hm, would you try it with this version compojoom.com/forum.html?func=view&catid...mit=10&start=10#3349 on your development environement. I am able to reorder the plugin position with it.

Ok, how would you do that?

I've installed this version on a totally different Joomla and it says me again "Order: This Plugin cannot be reordered"

Order automatically becomes 10001; the plugin that I need to be first has “0: First” position, but the result is the same as with version 3.26

:(

just write a number. Instead of 1001 - write 2 and save. Then the plugin becomes a number and you will be able to use the arrows to position it.

Daniel:

Sorry for being so annoying, but it still is not working for me.
Please see attached the screenshot. The order is now changed in the Plugin Manager, but no effect on the frontend.
:(

(i'm using Joomla 1.5.9)

That's right, the plugin i want to appear right after the article body has order #5 and JoomlaComment is #8, but still on the website i have Article -> JoomlaComment -> any other plugin.

Moving with arrows does not have any effect - i can make my plugin #1 and JoomlaComment #2 or 9 and it doesn't make any difference.

Please help

Hey lavva!
What should I do to get this plugin working? I installed and published it - it doesn't display for me?

Well, after publishing it in the Plugins, you will want to have at least two articles on your site with the same keyword (in Metadata Information -> Keywords). The plugin will then appear on those articles.

As an alternative solution, I was thinking maybe it would make sense to implement the feature similar to what The Economist has for user comments (pls see expandable Reader’s comments in the bottom www.economist.com/business/displaystory.cfm?story_id=13381522 ). Similar approach is used by mXcomment extension for Joomla.

This would reduce JoomlaComment’s size at the bottom of the page and would allow publishing other plugins without losing users’ attention.

About the plugin - I will try it.

About the economist - we have already such a template. Just change the default template with another one(one of them has both the comment form and the comments collapsed)

Ok, I solved your problem. :)

The thing is:
the plugin is called on onAfterDisplayContent and joomlacomment's plugin is colled on preparecontent. That is why our prugin always appear infront of the related articles and is not taking in account the position of the plugin.

So in content settings under Mambot content function write: onAfterDisplayContent::JOSCusereturn
then move your related articles plugin to the top and you will get the effect you want :)

Have fun!
