i found the DG is enabled
bundled (2.0.34 compatible)

but i did not find the freetype libraries

You need them, since the function imagettfbbox needs it.

The error log said:

[2008-10-07 16:42:55]: error: directory is writable by others: (/home/xxxxxxx/public_html/zzzzzz/components/com_comment/joscomment)

I CHMOD the directory, but not its contents to 755 and all is solved.

Guess it would make sense to look there! HEY, I'm a designer, not a programmer!
