TOPIC: Map not loading

Are you using 1.0 stable?
if you go to the settings-> advanced I think -> there is an option to use a progress bar - turn it on and check if the map works.

Hi Daniel, yup Im using the latest edition and the progress bar isnt even turned on which makes it confusing why it is showing. I just assumed maybe the progressbar is something else?

No progressbar is a little 300px wide bar that shows up when you load a lot of markers. And you will see a green bar saying 1 of 5 markers loade, 2 of 5 markers loaded and so on. Turn it on and see if the problem disappears.

Hi I just turned the progressbar on, and made a couple of minor css tweeks seem to be going in the right direction! Phew. I used validator.w3.org/check?uri=WEBSITE-ADDRESS as I wasnt sure how firebug helps with css errors.

Just found my previous email. Have tried the "turn progressbar" thing on and corrected the html code formatting issues on the page but not fix :/

Doh! It *was* the missing image thing! God dammit just when i wonder if you dont have the answer to most everything, you go and prove how well you guys know your code!!

A missing image or shadow? Actually Kate, both should not produce this problem - the component should automatically go to the standard google marker image if you don#t specify any... I'm really happy that you found that on your own (Y)

I have the same problem. In category 1 it shows the message "Loading data" all the time. I deleted the image and shadow in backend, but it doesn´t fix the problem. The site is trumpetmap.com, the map is the startpage. I´ve installed version 1.0 stable. Can you help me?

EDIT: Now it´s working. One marker was the problem. The name of the street ends with a letter (i.e. "Fantasystreet 13 D") and that has made the troubles. But this is the correct streetname...

No matter, it´s working right now.

Would you give me the coordinates of the street + absolutly everything you have entered as info in the hotspot. I'll try to reproduce the problem.

I'm running the latest version of Hotspots.

At my site ( http://www.akademie-probios.de/index.php?option=com_hotspots&view=all&Itemid=71 ), I have the "Map not loading"-problem.

Any suggestions? Have to fix the problem ASAP!

Hi Jonas,

when I had this problem what I tried was turning the "loading bar" on in the backend. Also make sure that location of all the graphics used within the map are correctly identified.

Another problem I had was that I "allowed" html in the hotspot description AND some really spurious (incorrect HTML was in the description of a number of my hotspots). If in doubt, if you can go through the latest hotspots to be added to your site.

Looking at your website right now I have the feeling that this is not the latest version of hotspots. Why?
Well, once the page loads you are making the following request:
www.akademie-probios.de/index.php?option...l=null&position=null

And getold is not anymore present. Please make sure that you use hotspots1.0 stable and then go to the configuration and save it again, and also check the menu item that you've created for hotspots.
