All the options are available on 2.5 and on 3.0.
What are you trying to do again?
First you need to create a hotspot category, then you can enter few locations and then you can create a menu. What is exactly the problem?

Btw, why are you running joomla 2.5 and not 3.3? Joomla 2.5 has been deprecated in December and we will be stopping support for it in March.

Regards,
Daniel

The delete is a known bug that is already fixed and I'll issue an update for it.

With specific page - I guess that you are referring to article? Do you want to show a single location or all location in this artilce?

May I also ask why do you want to show the map in the article in the first place?

Regards,
Daniel

Okay, you have several options here.
1. You could use the hotspotsanywhere plugin -> look in the plugin manager and you'll see it. The syntax is I think {hotspotsanywhere} -> this should load the whole component in the article.

2. I'm actually fan of option 2. Not sure why you need the article, but if you just want to show some text before the map and after the map, why don't you continue to use the menu item that you've created for hotspots and just create a new custom module with your text. You can have a module on top of the map and below the map. There are a lot of module positions available: compojoom.com/support/documentation/hotspots/ch05s07

Why I like option 2 better? Because of the performance. If you load the map in an article this means -> joomla's com_content component needs to be initialised, it has to do database query to fetch the content etc. Then the content is run through the plugins -> the hotspotsanywhere plugin will load the whole component -> this means we'll do queries to fetch the data etc. It's basically double the work. I don't say that this will bring your site down, it won't. But I think that it is way better to just use hotspots with modules...

Cheers,
Daniel

Hi there , try that but did not work suppose im doing something wrong .
What im trying to do is : i have an article with a big list on partners ( text ) , in that article want to put the map with all my map locations .
So what i did so far is : create the category , start putting locations , when i went to see on page there i saw my text on the page and in the left side again as text the locations. Of course when i press the location the map is opening and i see the location .and thats fine . But what i want to do is , when i go to the specific page i want to display all my locations in one map and the text also under the map .
So is possible to tell me step by step how to do it ?

Maybe i should separate my goals a but, sorry if i am getting repetitive :)
1. I want to put all of the hotspot locations in one map, so i can have a page that a user can click on his closest hotspot without having to check one hotspot by one. I don't know how to do that at the moment, but my goal is to display all the hostspot markers on the same map. I think i am just missing something that is very clear to you on that point.

2. I would like also to know if there is a way to group the hotspots on a page by a specific location, an example could be a page where on top is the map i mentioned on the first part of the question, with all the hostspots followed by a list where all the hotspots are grouped based on city area. Right now i can only achieve a left sidebar with each hotspot separated. Is that possible to do?

For the second question i think that your answer should suffice, i am going to test it soon, but i am still not sure how to do the first part

1. in my view your best option is. Create a menu to the map view (this is the view that is going to show all hotspots). Then create a custom module and add your article text to it and place it above the map or below the map.

2. You'll notice that when you move around the map the url changes. For example on our demo page: demo.compojoom.com/hotspots#46.5263684/11.8313871/2 -> the stuff after the hash is the center and the zoom. So, just create links with different hash and then the map will load those.

Daniel

That is a standard Joomla feature. Just navigate to Extension -> Module manager -> new and from the list select custom module.

Daniel

This is not help-full at all . I know how to navigate thats not the problem . Since the start this topic , i want a guide to the extension and i manage to create some stuff .
1. I Navigate to Dashboard , create some Locations
2. I create a Category
3. Then i saw in my page ( tnthair.gr/index.php/en/qualified-hairdressers ) this is my page , in the left to show : name .......and create by super user .
4. When i click on the name i can see the map and its ok.
5. But what im trying to make is this : to insert all the Locations in Dashboard and then display them in one map and not like it is now .
6. Is there any page or video that explains how to insert all Locations in one map in a single page?
7. I want to do something like the demo .... demo.compojoom.com/hotspots , its the map with many locations and on the right when you click the location some info.
Can you please give me a detailed example how to do it?

Watch the webinar that we did with cloudaccess: compojoom.com/joomla-extensions/hotspots

If you want something like the demo, then you have to go to the joomla's menu manager - create a new menu item and point it to hotspots -> map view. That's all.

Daniel

Then it create a small menu under Qualified Hairsdressers , that i named it : Hotspot , but then the map is empty again .

The map doesn't load because you have a js conflict. On the map page you are loading 2 versions of jquery. The one is the default from joomla and a second one in version 1.7
<script src=" ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.7/jquery.min.js " type="text/javascript"></script>

I don't know which extension on your page is loading it, but it should not. What you could do is install the joomla plugin (jquery easy) and it should remove the second occurence of jquery on that page. After this the map will most probably load.

Daniel

Problem fixed , you where right another extension was blocking !!! Many thanks.
Last question , if its supported . I have an excel file with addresses : goo.gl/maps/fVy22 ( google map type ) .
Is it possible to enter in to Hotspot in some kind of form from excel ?
The excel form is like this : Name - Address - Telephone number .
I saw the KML file and tried to find a converter from Excel to KML but nothing special came up . You got anything to propose , or can i insert to Hotspots directly and excel file?

Hi again waiting for an answer about previous question . And there is another problem that i have. In the map that appears great btw :) i have a message : Sorry we have no imagery here.
How do i fix this one?
And one more question , i made an Excel file in this kind of form : Latitude - Longitude - Title - Country , i convert it to KML file and import it on Dashboard .Everything was fine and the locations have been added to the Location Hotspots , but without the Name . Is it a problem that the name is in deferend language than English ?

How did you import the file? DId you import it as a KML file, or did you do an import from KML to hotspot? (through KML -> import?)

About the "sorry we have no imagery here". This is coming from google - I cannot do anything about it. What is your configuration - have you turned the weather or clouds layers? I've seen this error mostly in relation to this.

Daniel
