When editing comments (either in the back-end or on the site itself), their date is reset to zero. What can I do to prevent this?

Which version are you actually using? I can't confirm this on joomzla 3.2 with ccomment 5.0.6
The date is left intact - what is changed is the modified_by and modified fields in the db.
Please if you use our extensions be so kind and review them at JED

I use com_comment-5.0.6-core on Joomla 3.2.3.

On opening a comment for editing in the backend, the 'Created on' date field is reset to zero (either blank or Y-m-d H:i:s).
Maybe it has something to do with choosing a specific php date format? Entering a date number like 19-3-2014 is saved OK and shows on the site, but on re-opening the comment it is reset again.

Reards,
