TOPIC: Popup shows other address

Popup shows other address 3 years 2 months ago #11528

This is a cool component for Joomla but when I put a zip code in, the address shows another state that is not even close to where the event is. Plus when I removed the shadow image it deleted my input for an event.

Also the popup shows Town/Village undefined even though I know the address exists.

Plus in the ZIP area of the popup it shows the town and not the zip.

I know you are working very hard on this great project. But I just want to let you know of these minor bugs.

Regards,
Rob

Hey Rober,
Can you enter the town information per hand and see if the address still shows the wrong data?

Hello Daniel,

Attached is a screenshot of the test by hand. The image has notes on it:

Like I said before this is really a cool component for Joomla and I look forward to your new update that you have mentioned. Just wondering how hard would it be to have a sql of all restaurants with their specialty (burgers, hot dogs, tacos, etc) be inputted?

Would this have to be done separately by hand or could you import a sql and it would show up?

Thanks.

Rob

If you want I will provide a link but I'll PM you as I need to set you up as a user. Let me know if you need this. Thanks again.

Hi Robert,
In what format is your data? XML, sql, excel or what?

If the data is lying in a db table, then it won't be so difficult to write a query to move it to the hotspots table.

Hello Daniel,

The format is in excel (csv file). The columns would have the specialty of the restaurant such as hamburgers, tacos, etc.
I have been looking on the internet for a utility to do this but have not come across anything. If you know of a way that this can be done I would appreciate it.
Thanks for reply.

Rob

Hi Robert,
I've never did this, but perhaps you can try it:
www.ozzu.com/programming-forum/csv-with-phpmyadmin-t49419.html
vegdave.wordpress.com/2007/05/19/import-...ysql-via-phpmyadmin/

Your csv file has to have exactly the same structure as the hotspots file and perhaps you'll make it.

This is some great information and I appreciate it. I left a good review for you at the JED. Coming across a few issues but I am sure you will be working them out as they are already posted in the forum.

Later.

Rob
