TOPIC: Hotspots usage for travel routes

Hi,

Is it possible to use Hotspots for travel routes?
For example, we have 14-days itinerary of trip to New Zealand, and we need to show 10-20 general points of interest and the route between them.

Also it would be great if user can choose points of interest and save the route between them.

It depends.
Have a look at the demo here:
demo.compojoom.com/hotspots#!/catid=3 - there are 2 kml files over toronto and chicago, USA .

KML could be the itenerary and the route between the points.

I don't understand what you mean with "save the route between" the points? Save it how?

Same question from me also.

If user marks 2 marker like A and B . so when get direction is applied can we find different markers comes between those 2 markers.
example
i want to travel from newyork to Miami
Point A is my home and mode of travel is flight and point b is hotel in miami

so the route will be A -> Newyork airport -> miami airport -> hotel
and the marker comes in between point to newyork airport will be something which are on route and same from miami airport to hotel will have different markers like restaurant, beach wear and etc..

You can't use Hotspots in the way you want. Or at least you can't get the directions between 2 points that way.

You need to open a hotspot and then you can say "to" or "from" and enter your destination/starting place. Then Google will return the best way available, but it will be by car. It won't go and suggest a flight.

I want to create a map that shows multiple routes.

If I understood correctly, that would be possible using KML files. Is that correct?

A user could submit a KM L file? Is there a limit for the number of routes shown?

Users can't submit KML files. Only the admin is able to do this.
There is no limit on the number of KML files you can load. But keep in mind -> the more KML files, the worse the performance of the map becomes.
