TOPIC: Problems creating a "Map view" menu item

Hello

I am trying to create a "Map view" menu item. The process goes well but when I call the URL a "The category that you have selected in the menu settings doesn't exist - please check the id of the category again". The error seems to be very self-explanatory but I can't find what I am doing wrong.

Go to the menu that you've just created and on the right you will see a category id option. You should put a category id that exist and this category should also be published.

To find out the category id, go to the categories view in hotspots hover over the title of the category and the url will contain a string like &id="somenumber" - this is your id.

Thanks for your answer. I think I am still missing something. You said:

There is no ID category option on the right. The only ID is the global ID of the object. I got some snapshots of the Menu, Menu Item and Menu item settings for you to see if you want.

I have three categories, all published with one published marker each. You said that the category should have a format "&id="somenumber". The format in my categories is &cid[]="somenumber".

I am sure this is a silly mistake at my end but any help is greatly appreaciated.

Change the Menu Item Type to: Hotspots/Map view

The category id option on the right should be: ID (Database) of the start category

PS: I am using Joomla 1.5, hopefully it won't be too different in Joomla 1.7

The menu item type has been Map View from day 1. I created a form menu item and it is working just fine.

Nop, the Map is not working. I was just pointing out that the item menu type is correct. I have three categories , all published (numbers 1, 2 and 3). The "ID (Database) of the start category" option is set to 1. Nonetheless, the map is not working.
