I'm not the lead developer so don't know as much, but your Joomla template might be conflicting... that PHP warning actually outputs to the COMMENT box!?!? :laugh: That's very strange...

Try doing it again with the 'modern' template of JoComment. If that doesn't fix it, i'm not too sure... hopefully Daniel can get on soon to track it down - it might be a bug.

EDIT: I'm also seeing at the top of the article view the following error now -
Notice: Undefined offset: 2 in /home/pillar3400/public_html/plugins/content/slideshare15.php on line 82
...it may be an problem with the site that's unrelated to JoComment :unsure:

Hi JonusC, Daniel.

Thanks for your quick replies and help. I have turned the component back on.
I was away for the weekend and did not want to have the component on with any bugs. If you would like to test it out that would be great. www.codegaconsulting.com/blog/ .

We would still definitely like to use it if possible. I have looked at all the other comment components and I think that this is the best for us. (particularily as you can choose what categories to display the component on).

Regards,
Colman

Hi there!

Notice: Undefined offset: 2 in /home/pillar3400/public_html/plugins/content/slideshare15.php on line 82

On your website I see the above message. Can you disable the plugin slideshare and then try to see if our component is working?

Due to our IT man not being here at the moment I cannot set up ftp access for you at the moment. If you like you can send me a file and I will edit/upload it etc..

Thank you for your time and help.

Regards,

Ok, now it is working!
Please don't ask what the problem was! I don't know!

I have changed autopublish comment to yes and then it started working. Then I was thinking - what the.....

I made a complete uninstall and installed joomlacomment beta1 and now it works. Also with autopublish comment set to 0.

That is very interesting. If the thread has no comments and the setting to allow autopublish is set to 0, then you can not post the comment and get this message.

If you have a comment, then it is working. I have to see if this is the same situation on my localhost. For the moment you can just set autopublish to true.

Ok, tested on my localhost. I have the same problem. It seems that there is a bug with the autopublish feature(only if I knew what is wrong...)
It will take some time to fix this - I don't know how much, since I still don't know what is the problem.

Ok, try this please. Open comment.class.php
go to line 1203 and find
$xml .= '<id>' . $item['id'] . '</id>';

delete it from there and move it few lines later in the if(item code
            if ($item['view']) {
                $xml .= '<id>' . $item['id'] . '</id>';
	        $html = JOSC_utils::cdata(JOSC_utils::filter($this->encodeData_Charset($this->insertPost($item, ''))));
    	        $xml .= "<body>$html</body>";
            }

Tell me if it is working. :)

Hi Daniel,
No I have not made that change yet because I am waiting for ftp access and have a meeting with the client now. I will let you know asap.
Thanks for the progress and updates.

Hey, I'm happy it is working. I will add this to the next release. Please uninstall xtexplorer (I've installed it to browse the joomlacomment files through the backend of joomla.

If you satisfied with joomlacomment, please write a review here:
extensions.joomla.org/extensions/contact...omments/4389/details

Thanks!

Yeah I gave you a nice review, lets see if they publish it eh!

One last quick question, the client asks is it possible to have a smaller 'Message' box on the front end?

In the Layout I have tried changing 'Columns number of the input area' but that has had no effect. If It is a simple setting in one of the files tell me which one and I will dig it out myself. If not its fine

Thanks,
Colman

Hi, I'm getting the same problem, only difference is that it doesn't work even if I turn off the autopublish option. And I've tried the solution you mentioned in post 4762 but it still isn't working..
It will work if I turn ajax off, but I would like to use ajax.. Is there any solution for me?
I'm using Joomla 1.5.11, and the latest joomlacomment component (4.0 beta)

I can't give you backend access because it is still on my localhost..
