Hi

I have been using Joomla for 6 months and I think it is great. I would never have been able to get a site up and running with so much functionality without Joomla.

The website address is www.doncasterathleticclub.com/ .

I use Joomlacomment 3.25 to allow registered users to comment on articles.

The formatting does not look good on the users comments – see

http://www.doncasterathleticclub.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=225:maltby-abbeydash-report-jo-parkin&catid=20:cross-country-reports&Itemid=46

The comments are not running the full width of the box and at random it is as if the author has pressed enter. I can assure you this is not the case.

Any ideas?

Many Thanks

Martin

Hi - sorry for the long post.

The settings are:

Post max length - 1000 : Maximum allowed characters in posts (-1 for no max.)
Line max length - 80: Maximum allowed characters in one line (-1 for no max.)
Word max length - 50: Maximum allowed characters in words (-1 for no max.)

I have not changed any of these settings since I installed it

I tried to retype the comments exactly as before on an older article - see this link:

http://doncasterathleticclub.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=145:dam-flask-relays&catid=3:road-running&Itemid=5#CommentForm

I got similar results but not identical.

I also did 2 paragraphs of the word "Test " (with a space) - this proves the Line max length is working correctly.

The below text is copied directly from the Edit Text box so you can see exactly who I intended it to appear:

"I would like to thank Jo for writing these reports for the website.

This was a good hard race - about 4.25 miles, the instructions given to us at the start described numerous stiles, bridges, steps, stepping stones, pipes and other obstacles / features along the route.

We had heavy rain before the start.

The run was well marshalled, who were located at many of these obstacles.

Well done to all who took part.

Perhaps we should do all three races next year."

One thing I have noticed (I can not get this error to consistently occur - usually it does not) is that the Joomlacomments text input / edit box sometimes clashes with the Weather Forecast I have at the bottom of the website. I guess this is a template problem. I would post a screen shot but I can not duplicate the problem at the moment.

Thanks again for your help

Play with this values until you find the right value for your web site.
Post max length - 1000 : Maximum allowed characters in posts (-1 for no max.)
Line max length - 80: Maximum allowed characters in one line (-1 for no max.)
Word max length - 50: Maximum allowed characters in words (-1 for no max.)
