There were several reports that joomlacomment was having problems with mysql version 4. There is also a report here about a bug, that I couldn't untill now understand.
What is a gravatar?
A gravatar, or globally recognized avatar, is quite simply an image that follows you from site to site appearing beside your name when you do things. Avatars help identify your posts on blogs and web forums, so why not on any site?
I just found an interesting post about enabling akismet support in joomlacomment.
Guten morgen Deutschland! :)
I’m happy to announce that !joomlacomment4.0.0 alpha3 is ready for download. All bugs that were reported since alpha2 were fixed.
!Joomlacomment is working on a lot of websites, all with different languages. We have chinease, korean, russian, german and ... installations. A small problem we had with 3.26 was that we were using not utf8 aware functions - so on some sites that were using the feature under content settigns->security -> overflow there were sometimes problems with "funny" characters like these ones 'äöüßщюпчюпоиеявш' :)
Hey guys! I've got several e-mails asking me what to expect in !jocomment 4.0 . My answer always is: "Don't expect anything - this way you want be disappointed :)“. !jocomment 4.0 is going to be a very important update mainly for me. Yes, we are fixing few bugs that were discovered in 3.26, but they all were not critical.
OK, the new template is ready and it fixes the problems that we had with comment indent(threaded comments) (that alone was 20h of work). The demo is available here: http://demo.compojoom.com .
Sad, but a fact - no bug fix for today :(
I was thinking a lot how to fix this issue here http://dev.compojoom.com/issues/show/22. The first thing I did was to search the forum(of course :)), since there was a proposed solution to the problem. Yea, but I didn't like the solution back then, and now I still don't like it.
Today, I started working on the last 4 bugs that were reported last week with !jocomment 4.0 alpha 2 :)
Today, I just upgraded to the new fireboard called Kunena. ( http://www.kunena.com/ ) The word "Kunena" means "to speak" (so the web site says) - cool.
The upgrade process from fireboard 1.0.5RC2 was fairly easy.
