Hello,

I have installed joomlacomment v 4 beta 2
I liked to see it, so
I have created test section& test category and a test article that belongs to them just for testing ..

Then I spent hours trying to show the comment layout within test article without any success

I have Included the test section& test category, but, nothing appears when visiting the test article

Although when Including other sections in my website, the comment layout shows up!



Another issue, that is when the comment show up at another sections, when posting the comment, a message appears says, Fails in posting .. then the editor appears with strange tags inside ..

Any idea ??

Have you tested a different template for the !JoomlaComment beta2?
I had a similar issue, which resolved itself when I changed the template.

Allocating comments to isolated categories should not be a problem. Remember that just prior to choosing categories, there is a radio button asking if it should include or exclude categories.

Fails in posting sounds weird..
The weird tags following this suggests JonusC or Daniel should perhaps take a look.
Then again, there are a few known bug issues that are being cleaned up as we speak, with a stable release due any day now.

Personally, since this is just a test for you, I would wait til the stable version gets released, try again, and then see how it works.
The beta2 version was basically the same as beta1, just with a XSS-security problem fixed. In the upgrade process however, some tags seem to have been dislodged. But since the security issue was rather critical, I assume this was a better halfway remedy than to leave it until the stable release.

Do you have a link or screen-grab showing the problem better?

My thoughts is it is the Include/Exclude radio select that Nils mentioned. Whichever of the two is chosen, the entered section/category/content ID's will have it (included or excluded from Comment display).

Also make sure you have the 'modern' template selected in Layout just for testing, it's the most compatible one.

After the Request Failed on a comment, it fills the message with the error. Could you paste the entire Comment box result after this error?
