Ok so i've written a K2 plugin for Beta 2 using the dummy plugin file on Joomla 1.5.14

For the largest part i've got it up and running. I have a working comment system for each k2 article.

Yet there seem to be a few more minor issues that need to be addressed to make this a useful plugin.

1.
Administrator:
Manage comments->com_k2 from the drop down list makes the toolbar and the config menu disappear. I haven't as of yet been able to find out why, but maybe someone could speed up this process if they already encountered this problem.

2.
the standard joomla SEF doesnt really play well with joomlacomment/k2 so i wrote the plugin to support SEF as well, but it needs to be enabled manually from within the plugin php. Maybe it's a good idea to be able to add admin params from the plugin file, this would make the plugin way more portable, this way i could add an 'enable/disable' option to the com_k2 settings without hacking joomlacomment!

In any case, i am almost done with the plugin, so hope i can get help on these issues so i can upload it asap for other users
After that, phoca-gallery and hwdvideo (probably all this week, since i need them for a client).

About k2 - you can always check the scope of the application -> are you in admin or in frontend and then show different code.
Could you give me the K2 plugin? And if you wish you can make the phoca-gallery and I will make hwdvideo plugin (we can share the work, but if you insist - you can make them both )

As for the scope, i just used the dummy plugin file, so everything should and seems to be working fine. I really only have a problem with the comment view in the admin.

When i click on the option list on com_k2 to view the com_k2 comments, i see the list of com_k2 comments BUT, the admin menu and the toolbar disappear (see image)....i still don't know why, but it seems they just stop rendering completely...so this is at least 1 bug in com_k2

the second point was more of an idea:

let's say i want to write plugin for joomlacomment, right now i can add a config item for that plugin through the admin, but i cannot control the settings themselves, the settings are exactly the same as the general joomlacomment settings. So my idea was:
why not add a mechanism to control the component config area from within the plugin? Maybe even add a config.xml file to each plugin with an installation procedure...to get it done.

the reason why i had this idea: i made the com_k2 on a system with the default joomlacomment SEF, so i made an extra line of code for a k2 SEF $link. It would have been great if could make the custom config contain custom parameters, like a radiobutton for SEF enabled/disabled, or whatever i built for my plugin. I think it will greatly expand the possibilities for plugin manageability.

as for hwd and phoca, i'm gonna start those as soon as i completely finish k2, hopefully today!

Hey Benny! Thanks for the work on the plugin. You've used a little bit old dummy plugin. I've updated your code for joomlacomment 4.0 beta2 and we are generating friendly urls, have the ability to use rss and the forum now

How is the plugin for hwdvideo going along? Should I write it? (actually I have promised this to the developer of that extension several months ago, so if you don't have the time, just tell me, till I have the time to do it )

got a bit sidetracked on the project, my clients are a bunch of idiots that want to ugly up the site every time i make it look good, go figure....but i will need those two additional plugins to finish the project so rest assured that i will make them (since i'm getting payed for it!).
