Joomla Components and Professional Joomla Templates

This item is giving to me the opportunity to clarify one point : I'm not the original developper of this wonderfull tool . I would be proud of that , but unfortunatly I'm not. My participation starts with the 2.40 FIXED and then 3.x releases .

At the moment, we are only 2 men developping and doing help support : me and Daniel. We are not paid for !JoomlaComment (except few donations from friendly users - thanks !). It is just a hobbit, trying to keep alive this great component. It is not simple to manage joomlacomment in the same time than personnal and professional life ! So thank you for your understanding about some functionnalities not yet developped or delay in help support !

In the following lines, I'm trying to give you the story of joomlacomment. I have not all the complete detail s and dates but maybe some of you would help me to complete. :)

First of all, the different names used to call this component are :

• official : !JoomlaComment
• easier to write : joomlacomment or !joomlacomment
• nicknamed: josc or JOSC. or joscomment. this nicknamed comes from the joscomment bot used to active the component in the content items.

!joomlacomment is born in the beginning of 2006. It has been developped by an amazing czech(?) team leading by Frantisek Hliva. I thanks once again them for this wonderfull work. Not only about the frontend use but also in the php code (very professional). The 2.40final release has been published in the second part of 2006. However, there were existing many bugs. Until this release, the team never published another fixed release.

We are several in the joomla forum, usually, giving fix to those bugs. In the same time, I tried as others to contact joomlacomment team, using contact form of the website, sending email... I never had any answers.

After the 2007 summer, I decided that this smart tool must be kept alive !! With no news of Franck and joomlacomment team, I decided to put the project on the joomlacode website and to keep on the work.

Immediatly in the beginning of october, I published a 2.40FIXED release with all fix of many bugs found during the past year.

Few days later, I published the first 3.0.0 release adding email, website functionnalities and at the end of october, an important release with importing tool and possibility to modify directly template html and css.
