What's up with joomlacomment beta1?
by Daniel Dimitrov on June 01, 2009
2 months ago I released !joomlacomment 4.0 alpha3 and said that we could expect beta1 within one week. Well as you can see, things didn't go quite this way :). However, there are good news!
Last week I was working a lot on this and I can finally say that all bugs that were reported during alpha3 test phase were fixed! I will need your help to finalize the release! With the alpha versions of our software we introduced a new template "modern", that is basically the same as the "default" one. I hear you asking: "Why it is the same as the default one?". I answer: "Because with previous templates build on tables instead of lists we had a very ugly results when the comment indent feature was in use." The modern template fixes this issue and is the way we are going to build all templates from now on.
If you already use the modern template and have some display issues(css problems :)), please use the form below or send me an e-mail, or write to us in the forum. I wish to have a look at your site and fix the problems you have with the modern template. This will unsure us that the modern template is ready for the future :)
Thank you in advance for your help!

2009-07-06 20:26:49 | Ashim Gupta - Rating/Voting integration with comments?

I am anxious about beta1 and really appreciate the fine work you have done with the comment extension and yet kept it free.
I was wondering if it was possible to integrate the joomla voting/rating into the comments, something like amazon. The user can vote as well as comment, on the bar, both #comments and average vote can be displayed.
Then have a plugin to display the #comments+vote along with articles heading.

Best support, fast upgrades
I don't really leave as many reviews as I should, but the support provided by Daniel is on par with the other leading extensions support groups.
I bought the component and installed it, and had questions about some customization (support for JomSocial + Avatars). I posted my questions on the forum, and within a couple of hours I had a very helpful response. I used to use the free !JoomlaComment extension, but when I saw that they went "pro" I definitely trusted their work on my site....
Professional coded..
Easy and quick install, a lot of features (antispam protection, quoting previous comments, reply to comments, rss and e-mail subscription...). I've tested some other comment modules for joomla and compojoom is one of the best because of the features and I've found no bug at all during testing...
